Relating to Mildura FlooringXtra (proprietors: [Name Removed] and [Name Removed]). Some parts of the flooring job were acceptable, but many aspects were very poor. charged). There was limited transparency regarding how these increases were calculated. The additional costs were introduced at a critical stage of construction, when changing providers was not a practical option, and declining the increase would likely have significantly delayed the project. As a result, I felt I had little realistic choice but to proceed, which felt intentional and calculated in order to manipulate a difficult situation.
Communication was inconsistent. When contact was made, staff were polite enough, but long periods of ignored correspondence were common. Emails and phone calls often went unanswered for weeks or months. I literally had to repeatedly beg, plead, and grovel to get any form of response. Most concerning is that the job remains unfinished. Despite assurances that the outstanding work would be completed, there has been no meaningful follow-through. The most recent weeks of attempts to arrange completion have gone unanswered for months on end, even when I tried to mediate through Flooring Xtra head office.
In my view, this does not meet the expectations of services being delivered with due care and skill under Australian Consumer Law.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend this provider. Flooring head office had no success in remediating the situation, which gives the appearance that Mildura Flooring Xtra’s poor performance and behaviour are celebrated internally as a company value.

This is their idea of fixing a floor that they laid and won’t allow me to load video of all the sharp corners left from their skirting that they installed, terrible service and would not recommend them unless you want to be ripped off

Our kids are living with hazard floors as this company won’t take accountability. Worst decision ever with this company… – At the beginning of our experience, we loved it, the flooring colour was great credit to the supplier and cost was good. We recommended Keilor flooring xtra to multiple friends and family and now we have told our family who was going ahead with them to pull out! Extremely disappointed with the service and communication by Flooring xtra Keilor… Read more
owner [Name Removed] and the internal management team especially [Name Removed]. We had flooring completed in 2020, during the installation the installer burnt our carpet in two rooms, used a grinder to cut our skirtings and tiles in the bathroom/ toilet to allow room for install. The carpet was fixed through the store however fast forward to 2021 the flooring in the dining and living room was lifting. This was reported to the Keilor floor which the installer came out and tried to fix the issue by using a liquid to flatten the boards again and using our concrete blocks to harden this (image attached).
Yet again end of 2021, the flooring has risen more and more along with the flooring moving in the kitchen which then showed a short board, this was reported yet again. The store sent out the installer again and the supplier to have a look at the issue which the supplier advised that there was two areas in the entire house that had some caulking completed. Following this information, the Keilor store communicated to us that this was due to us caulking the flooring and now waived the flooring works. We provided multiple images, information and videos to the owner to show that this was done day of installation by the installer. He continued to advise that this was our fault, that we do not caulk hybrid flooring to allow for natural movement and expansion. This we understood as my partner and I are both in the construction industry yet the store owner spoke to us like we have no idea.
From early Feb 2022, we had sent an email to the head office of flooring extra, until recently April we finally had received a response from head office which advised the store owner advised that the flooring is waived as we did not complete the caulking through them. However on multiple Occassions we have been advised this is not the case at all. Our email has been dismissed by head office not only on the workmanship but also on how the store owner “who is individually owned franchise” treated us as clients.
We have requested higher management to be involved now as it seems no one cares about our issue we have. We have two small children and the flooring is becoming a hazard to them.
I’ve never ever placed a bad review for any service I have had before even if it wasn’t the best however due to the lack of accountability, communication and dismissal from the head office we are so fed up. We will not let this go at all and will keep spreading the word of the bad customer service and workmanship from this company, franchise.
STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

are happy to provide a quote for re-fix. What I comprehend is how a carpet would deteriorate during a mere 5 year window, It has to be either a very low quality carpet that has been offered or poor workmanship of installation or both. The Trology Cloudbay Carpet I mentioned above was a Category 3 carpet offered at an additional cost of $3,520 with an ultimate undelay, again in lieu of a standard underlay.
11/4/25 - Got a response from this shody company as below, mentioning that the Carpet is non defective and their installation has no issues /problem. The company has tried to offer a 'good will gesture' for me to spend $1870.53 (my portion) to fix the carpet lifting in multiple areas of my home. You can also see my response to them below. over that period , poor preparation has proven to be a nightmare . Our flooring has gotten worst month by month. At the very beginning there were a few issues that have now multiplied. I do not recommend Flooring Xtra. Go elsewhere but always do your own research on the company and READ the reviews. Update on the floor:
I did have a call from the head office wanting more information because of the review, which I provided. I invited them again to come and see all the issue 1st hand. I was advised at the time ,that I would get a callback soon ( within 2 weeks)This was 2 months ago. I also had a flooring expert come through our store and to add salt to the wound ,he advised me that EVEN the wrong type of flooring was recommended and installed in our premises. The flooring was suitable for residential use . This was installed in a small retail family business. The issues with this company continues to pile up. Not sure how some people can sleep at night. I will provide some photos soon . leveled, before starting the job, of putting down vinal planks, when job started a plank was cut around a bubble in the skirting board, i was not happy with this & spoke a shop worker who came & looked at it & told her we would fix it, i was told not to hold them up, the pulled up the plank, the contractor came back to that piece to fix it later, some work was done the floor grinded down & some more floor pulled up again not right cement dust everywhere not cleaned up, gear left all through the house & mess, the workers turned up & when I left they skived off some where not here to do the job paid to do, the worker held everyone up while he entertained his un invited girlfriend into my house while laying 1 bedroom floor that took all day, then left leaving cement dust everywhere to be cleaned up & floor washed. I came to the house to find my house was left unlocked all night, my hose left running all night, my garage door left open all night. They had broken a vertical & the whole track had to be replaced, there was glue on the vertical 1 young worker was outside with the vinal planks in a heap turned over face down scraping the glue off on the cement, the was glue on cupboards, skirting boards, glue & dirty hand marks on my beige suede lounge, my polished dining table was scratched, had glue on it & covered in cement dust. The workers grinder & vaccume broke & he ran around trying to get another one most of the day,Their car dropped oil all over the lawn while here for 2 weeks The floor was not sealed the first week, the worker came back following week to seal it. This young worker had said that he wasn't going to make any money out of this job, so obviously he could not care less that my house was uninhabitable & he had inconvenienced me & where i was staying, because of a careless attitude, I was not happy with the floor it was not right so he had to pull up most of 2 bedrooms, all hallway, most of dining & lounge room floor again, more cement dust & floor grinded down in those places, was still very uneven & not right, every day they came & left after me to somewhere else not doing the job they were there for, the floor was left like this all 2nd week with nothing being done & 1 worker left in the house by himself on the last day with other worker nowhere to be seen, when the other worker turned up he said he was now ready to work they the used every piece of flooring, left mess & cement dust all through the house not cleaned up, When floor was finished, vinal planks over lapped, planks not joined together properly with gaps, planks looked old & filthy dirty like down for years, slippery, shiny, all marked, 4 people could not get off what ever was on the flooring including shop owner, worker, rep of company & my self, rep looked at the floor & took photos obviously faulty, entire house floor had to be pulled up again by shop owner & 2 other people took all day to do & regrind to get glue off the floor, more cement dust, pieces taken out of floor where patched to put flooring down. Those places had to be patched again by the next flooring people before work could be done, Everything from beding, cupboard shelfs, furniture & walls had to be cleaned & washed, 12 months on still flooring problems due to floor not being leveled in the first place, shonky work, workers suppose to be their best I had not been able to put my house back together because of the flooring being continuously pulled up & replaced, because of shonky work by previous contractors I had to engage another company to put down more flooring causing me continuing stress & anxiety.i feel like I was used & lied to for his own convenience. Would not recommend these people, shop staff said taking product off the shelf. The young contractor also contracts for himself. Never again, people beware
Follow-up · I tried to manage the stress as best way I could as I had a lot of other issues happening at the same time which did not help anything. apartments. We had the flooring sound tested, & it passed easily at half the cutoff level, so did not need that, plus the flooring did not come anywhere near reaching most of the skirting, so i had to redo most of the skirting. Biggest problem was the flooring was not level. I can see hills & valleys, & had to put padding under some of the furniture. He reluctantly, eventually came back to look at my concerns, & did not see a problem with the leveling. Mind, that would have meant redoing the whole thing, & we had all our furnishings in. He did admit he thought the flooring would come up higher with the skirting. He did agree to fix a couple of minor things & get some spare flooring, and i never saw or heard back. Been a few months now, but i was not surprised. Not happy with the fact that someone with his experience could get it so wrong, then brush it off. I now know i should have gone with one of the other quotes, who gave a different approach to the job. So i am now stuck with something that will always annoy me.

Avoid if you don’t want to deal with poor management – I’ve mentioned several times to admin that I’m living in the house, but when the worker arrived, he didn’t seem to know and wasn’t prepared for moving furniture. very rude and unprofessional) wouldn’t take more than three days, so it would be fine and they told me the job is booked for 3 days just in case any extra jobs. But then only two days were actually booked, not three, which was frustrating. I adjusted my work schedule to be home for three days, but the job couldn’t be finished in 2 days and had to be pushed into the next week. The guy who came to do the job told me he is only booked for 2 days on the day. If the three days had been properly scheduled as promised, the job was completed within the promised timeframe.
On top of that, there were more delays because the wrong color skirting was brought. It just felt like poor planning all around.
I also had to chase for updates multiple times when asking if anyone could work on the third day, which wasn’t great. Yet, when it came to payment, I was chased very quickly!
I’m happy with the actual work done on the floors—it looks great—but the process was frustrating, and I wouldn’t recommend this company.

installation job by their installers was "terrible" and pointed out multiple issues, before saying he wasn't going to do anything about it unless we paid for it to be reinstalled. He also added it wouldn't be a warranty claim as their installers hadn't installed it to the manufacturer's specification. We've made multiple attempts to re-engage with the manager and have attempted to escalate this by emailing their customer support email address but all attempts have been ignored and we will most likely need to pay for another company to rip it up and start again. After the stress this has put on our family, both emotionally and financially, we won't be using this company ever again and will be sharing this experience with anyone that is considering buying flooring.

Incredibly disappointed – I’m not one to typically write a review but I feel compelled in this instance. Flooring Xtra installed loop pile carpet in our new build house. The carpet looks great but for a very poor join in middle of the hallway. It’s an extremely unfortunate place to have ordinary workmanship as we walk over it several times a day. To their credit, when we… Read more
first raised the issue they sent an installer out to (try to) fix it with no fuss. However, the installer wasn’t able to rectify the issue and said that section of carpet needs to be replaced to fix it properly. Their product comes with a lifetime installation warranty that includes replacement so we thought we would wait a couple months to see if we could come to terms with the modest improvement the installer was able to make. We couldn’t, it just looks terrible and is all we can see when walking down the hallway. *** Note the pictures are flattering, it looks considerably worse in person***
We subsequently asked the Flooring Xtra's Warranty administrator to replace this section and the administrator is now saying that the floor was "installed to Australian standards" and can "provide a quote" for its replacement. This is in spite of already having admitted it wasn’t up to standard when they sent an installer out the first time.
