I found them both very cumbersome – I've had 2 of these in succession. I've kept each for about 2 - 3 years each. In both I found after a while they will not switch on. At one moment you think it will start and then nothing. Is the problem in the switches?

Purchased at Bunnings Warehouse for $100.

Rubbish waste of money – Had it 10 years… used it for maybe 3 hrs per year max! And I am being generous!!! aSo it has lasted 30 hours! Using it has been ok but hard to keep on. WTH What a waste of money

Buy something else! – This is without a doubt the most awkward hedge trimmer to use on the market. I bought it thinking the extra grip for extra reach would certainly help. You need to be superman to be able to use it that way for more than a minute. There are three operations to be able to turn this machine on, the front grip (or rear grip for long reaching) needs to be pressed / gripped, the trigger needs to be held and then there is this dicky little slide switch your trigger hand thumb needs to push to let the other two triggers do thier work....ok for trimming the top of a hedge, but for any other manouvres it is dead set problematic.

The blades are small toothed so it does not handle leaves an inch across well and hacks at them till it gets through.

awkward, slow cutting, ineffective blades that chop rather than cut.

Common sense is required by the right tool for the job. Don't review a product for a job its not designed for. Small hedging jobs with thin small foliage.

The hedges I trim are lilly pilly hedges trimmed every month. nothing they are trimming is thicker than 3mm soft green new growth. Lilly pilly leaves are on average not large by any means.

Excellent – I was looking for a hedge trimmer that would be easy to use, good quality and not too expensive. I decided I would go for an electric rather than petrol one as they are cheaper and easier to run (lighter) and maintain. I ended up buying the Flymo 600XT as it had a good brand name and had quality attributes. I used it last week and was very happy with it. It is very well designed, with many handles which allows you to choose the most comfortable position for whatever job you are doing: trimming vertically or horizontally or high up. The second handle is a big advantage I found as it allowed me to reach and trim higher than I would if the trimmer didn't have the extra handle at the back.

Overall very happy with it. Bought it from OutdoorKing. Very good price for the quality. The second handle (extension handle) is a big plus. Couldn't find any cons.
