Avoid if you are on a low FODMAP diet – While I did get a little relief from the reflux, I was in hell the next day with gut pain. These tablets contain mannitol and xylitol, which are fermentable by gut bacteria. I only took two, and not realising what caused it, I stupidity took another one the following day and had a repeat experience. Avoid if you are on a low FODMAP diet.

Thank You Gaviscon Dual Action – Normally I do not suffer with heartburn or indigestion. That all changed last night, I woke at 3 a.m. with the most insane reflux, I knew what it was because I was my mother’s 24/7 carer for ten years and she had G.E.R.D. Naturally I cursed her because she has gifted me enough, I don’t want her reflux issues as well. The reflux was unstoppable and every burp hurt, then there was the disgustingly sour taste and burning. It went from 3a.m. till 5a.m when I dragged myself out of bed, it eased only slightly once I was upright. I felt like I needed holy water and a priest. I was in Woolworths at 8.30 being awake since 3a.m. I looked like an old swamp witch and I didn’t care…I grabbed a packet of Gaviscon Dual Action Peppermint Chewable Tablets and opened them there and then and had my first…relief was within minutes…Six hours relief before I needed another. I paid $7,there is 16 magic chewable tablets in the box. They are gluten free. These will now be a staple on my bedside table. They are Australian made by Reckitt Benckiser.
Purchased at Woolworths for $7.
