George Foreman Grp10

expired – Not long after I bought it, the thing went POP and blew the house fuse. I didn't get around to returning it. Took a while to heat up, but it died very young.

Cooks well – I'm still learning how to judge how long it takes because at the moment the meat comes out too well done, Also, there's little plastic cup-like thing which nobody seems to know the purpose of. The store doesn't know, and what's worse, the distributor's customer service doesn't know what it's for. The US company doesn't know either because this model isn't available there apparently.

Below expectation - buyer beware – We bought the George Foreman convertible easy to clean grill from Dick Smith a couple of days before they went on receivership. The first one we got, after seasoning the product, the top grill wasn't heating up. We exchanged it for another one and this one took 7 minutes to heat the grill at 230c from the red indicator to green.I noticed that the top grill's temperature is much lower than the bottom grill - thats why the zucchini's bottom was burnt while the top has not been cooked. The option is to turn it over, but I thought that was the whole purpose of the grill - avoiding the necessity to have to turn it over. I tried cooking eggs on the flat grill and bacon on the ribbed grill - the bacon was ready much ahead of time than the eggs, because the top grill was not heaing up as expected. I rang George Foreman to complain and I was told to deal with the distributor (dick smith), which previously advised me that I have to deal with George Foreman. George Foreman also advised me that I can return the item to them but I have to pay for the postage myself unless it was a major defect, and in this case, I was told it is not a major defect. It wouldn't be cheap to send it back as it is a huge item. I bought this item based on the recommendation of my sister who owns an older model but works perfectly. I certainly wasn't expecting this performance.
