Giantz Inverter Welder 200E

Giantz inverter welder 200E – This welder doesn't deserve any stars at all .can't use as it doesn't have NZ plug brought from a company on trade me called Golash which are selling these in NZ. Contacted them about the issue and they won't refund my money or address the problem so I guess I we'll be taking to court under the consumers guarantee ACT
Giantz welder only average – Purchased a new 20 - 200amp inverter welder after reading the glowing company spiel but was quickly disappointed. Why, because it was aimed at the DIY backyard hobbyist I assumed it would be plug and go, but no, the plug supplied uses the larger 9mm earth connector (aka caravan plug) so now I have to buy an adapter to stay legal until the 1 year warranty expires. And some of the adapters are worth more than the welder.

OK have tried to use it for some small jobs in the shed and; 1. The face shield / darkened glass is absolutely terrible - buy an adjustable shield instead so you can actually see what you are doing. 2. The wire brush / slag chipper can go the same way as the shield, buy something better. 3. The earth lead did not screw on properly and constantly falls out. 4. Buy yourself some welding flux and make sure your work pieces are absolutely clean and rust / paint free. 5. If using a power adapter be ready to reset it constantly unless you only use 2mm rods. Good luck
