Suspect it needs 5 stars – Hooray, it works! A one litre ice-cream maker with a built in compressor, ice cream in 40 minutes. No need to put the bowl in the freezer. Made three batches of ice cream over the weekend - wonderful - with a maker that requires the bowl to be frozen overnight that's not possible. I haven't perfected the timing yet and I know I'll get there. I used three different ice cream recipes so still experiment - first batch was medium soft. Second batch was soft but didn't think the recipe needed to be harder and third batch churned for 40 min and I left cooling for 20 min. It was variable hardness (harder on the bottom). Read the instructions - two important points - it gets harder during the cooling stage after it's churned and when you first get the machine it needs to rest to allow the coolant in the compressor to settle. Now, do I keep it on the bench over summer or put it away!
