Go elsewhere – Tried selling me far above my budget. Was very pushy. I eventually bought a bike that I like but found cheaper elsewhere. Purchased a membership because they said I'd get free repairs and a free workshop learning how to do basic maintenance and repairs then said I had to pay when I tried to use it.

Woukd never go in there ever again – Walked into Goldcross Cycles store in Burleigh Waters, QLD. Was about to spend $500 on a brand new bike. The service was terrible!! The two young guys at the counter couldn't even be bothered to walk over to me and ask if I needed some help, they just yelled over to me from Behind the counter. And to make it worse the tone of his voice made it sound like he was narked off because 'I was just having a look'.

Their bikes are a little cheaper but I'd still rather spend $100 dollars more at 99bikes for good quality service. Thanks Goldcross I Won't be back!

Poor service

Turning into another Anaconda – I worked there briefly and found out a lot from the company itself. The sales team are seasonal and usually just throwing bikes out the door without doing the proper fitting and asking what the customer's are actually needing in a bike eg: commuting, sport, or hobbie etc. Most of the guys there do ride however ride BMX or Park and dont understand the general rider or commuter.

The company itself was very lacking in its servicing abilities of the bikes that came back with warranty issues with the 'Fuji' brand bikes, the service people would always complain with the lack of tools or resources available and the follow up from the bike manufacturers - this due to the multi faceted levels of hands that documents and parts would have to exchange to get to warranty and get finally cleared.

As a customer you need to go in there with a clear picture of what you are looking for in a bike and go and do multiple visits to other bike shops and dont transfix yourself on a purchase because your liking a colour or price of a bike. Gold Cross are now branching out into Gym equipment in their bike stores, which is weird to the least, and I believe that they may be loosing touch with their original goal of being a proper bike store.

Gold Cross in my short time there experienced its fair share of very unhappy customers, and since I've been back there has been a massive turnover of staff, stock and bike range - with some bikes still on the floor 3 years later...

I believe that if you can find a reputable sales rep in their store, and have them explain your needs into a sizable bike that they have on the floor you will not become disappointed after owning the bike for a few weeks, spend time with the sales person and take your time. Do not fall for temptation as there are a myriad of bike brands all vouching for your dollars, find the right fitting bike for the right purpose and the right price and you'll be happy.

Ratings - recommend both Yes and No. Sizable store with lots of products and bikes. Lots of last seasons stock (not discounted) limited speciality items, lots of cheap gimmic stock
