GoodWe Smart DT Series Inverter

On the first day of installation, my installer noticed that the GoodWe battery system was not working normally. He tried calling GoodWe several times right there on-site, but no one answered and no one called him back. He then told me to contact them directly. I emailed GoodWe immediately and have still received no response at all. For such an expensive and important system, this level of customer service is completely unacceptable. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of support from GoodWe.

Broken inverter terrible customer service – The inverter (2 months old) is now failing to generate any electricity. It appears they tried to remotely update my inverter firmware without any notice or permission. And despite calls to their support team for the past week, no resolution was provided. Customer service rep has been dismissive and aggressive, and never called back with updates despite numerous promises.

Useless customer service – They advertise 10 year standard warranty for their inverter manufactured after certain date. However mine is given only 5 years. When I enquired about the additional 5 years, they don’t even respond to my emails. Never waste time to contact them via emails. They will not respond you. Now I am concerned about their after sale service. Even if anything goes wrong in future this is how their service is going to be.

Excellent So Far – There are so many solar PV inverters in the market, from cheap to expensive. It was extremely difficult and confusing to choose a brand other than basing the selection on price. I wanted a budget solar power system so that I could pay back the system as quickly as possible from the savings in my electricity bills. The seller recommended Goodwe but not other brands like Solis, ZeverSolar, Growatt, etc. although I also requested quotations for these brands.

So I had a Goodwe Smart DT 3-phase inverter installed.

1. It does not have that humming sound my previous Growatt inverter had.

2. It looks good on the wall.

3. The display panel is wide.

4. I wish the display font size is thicker and larger.

5. The technical support from Goodwe has been satisfactory. I had to contact the Goodwe office because the local seller and installer did not come to show me on how to configure the system.
