Gray Nicholls Colossus- Great bat – I purchased a Gray Nicholls Colossus Bat and after knocking it in I used it last night for the first time at indoor training, the bat whilst being heavier than my previous bat has great balance, is easy to pick up, and even though I was not playing through the ball (was just dead batting due to it being the first use of the bat) the ball flew off… Read more
at ann exceptional rate, my old bat is a Gray Nicholls Elite XXX, and even without playing through the ball the ball flew off the Colossus at an extreme rate, a number of the other players at training were commenting afterwards at how sweet the centre was and that they had not seen a bat of this quality for some years, a number of the defensive shots that I played would have quite easily reached the boundry on a reasonable outfield.
I could not be happier with the bat, after this initial training session I would say it could possibly be the best bat that I have owned (I am 45 so have had a number of bats over the years, the best previous bat I had was a Symonds Allrounder).
I would recommend a Gray Nicholls Colussus to anyone who does not mond a bit of extra weight in their bat, but would suggest to person who purchase one that they play with correct technique, I believe that if trying to swing the bat to hit a six every ball and playing accross hte line that the weight could be of detriment. Well Balanced, Great Middle,
Bats horrible – Didnt even make it to an actual game with it before the toe cracked after I had it professionally knocked in as a protective sleeve placed on it! On the plus side the bat does offer massive hitting power and I did enjoy hitting with it quite a bit before it broke ill be sticking with kookaburra in the future! Plenty of power Poorly made and overpriced
Gray Nicolls Colossus 750i – As it says on the website the Colossus is the biggest legal bat ever made. It is a bat made to clear any boundry. I would recommend it to any big hitter. It gives you the feeling that you are only putting a little bit of power when you play a shot. The ball comes off the bat like a rocket. You barely have to put in any effort when hit the ball.… Read more
It's feel like a bat which has a strength of it's own. What i liked most about this bat is that you get so much value for your shots. Because this bat is just pure weavy weight stuff, most smaller batsmen would not really enjoy this bat.
