My experience with the Gree system has been extremely distressing and disappointing. The installer told me that the unit was faulty and irreparable and should be removed. I did not want to keep it and requested a refund. During this process, I experienced phone interactions with the installer and his wife that I considered rude and aggressive. I… Read more
applied to NCAT and obtained an order requiring the unit to be repaired or a refund to be provided within a specified timeframe. After the order was made, the installer continued to propose removing the unit. I objected and stated that I would not permit access for removal and that I expected the order to be complied with. The installer subsequently repaired the unit within the timeframe specified by NCAT and paired the Wi-Fi with my phone. In total, it took approximately six months for the system to become operational costing me time and wasting my money. I again sought assistance with pairing the Wi-Fi to my phone. I spent approximately four months attempting to obtain technical support before deciding to return to NCAT. In my dealings with customer service, including [Name Removed], their responses focused on me personally rather than resolving the technical issue. I do not believe customers should need to apply to NCAT to obtain basic technical support. The time, expense and stress involved have been unacceptable to me. Based on my experience, I consider the company’s handling of these issues to have been unreasonable and inadequately focused on resolving the problems. I have also experienced condensation and what I consider excessive cooling or heating, which has affected my kitchen cabinetry and caused further damage and expense. I did not experience these issues with my previous air conditioner. Based on my experience, I recommend that prospective customers carefully consider Gree’s after-sales service and technical support before purchasing. Has anyone else experienced personal attacks, false accusations, or unfair characterizations when seeking technical support or trying to resolve an issue with Gree? In my case, the focus shifted from addressing the technical problem to criticizing me personally, delaying the resolution and causing significant stress.
Never in my life have I come across a worst air conditioner, inconsistent heating , multi head split , noisy on heads which are not on and the best feature, it goes into defrost mode virtually every hour . I have had many other brands but this brand is unbelievably bad , STAY AWAY .
If I could put zero I would, terrible warranty means nothing, charged more for a warranty fix than the whole unit cost! 3 weeks to come out and then charged $200 for a call out charge disgusting Apparently backed up with warranty claims which is a huge red flag DO NOT BUY ONE
Unreliable , will cost you a fortune to fix. I’m from Brisbane Australia and it’s hot and couldn’t afford to fix it. Terrible company with no place to review them because they are crap
1 star is generous! Our Gree air conditioner has been having problems for a long time. Contacted the warranty repairer in March, it is now end of July. The repairer has tried to replace the barrel twice, still waiting for a third time! Absolute rubbish warranty and product!
I had the Gree WSR 1696 air conditioning unit installed in my trailer in November, and it’s been a nightmare ever since. Despite spending a lot of money on it, the unit has never worked properly. It’s not even powerful enough to cool a small room. Just two months after installation, it completely stopped working. I contacted the installation… Read more
company, who then reached out to Gree support. Gree sent out a technician who went up to the roof, diagnosed a part replacement, and left. After that, the unit started leaking water inside.
I tried contacting them again but got no response. After numerous emails, Gree informed me the warranty was outsourced to NCE. I had to follow up myself and arrange service through them. Unfortunately, this was during cyclone season here in QLD, with constant rain—and their response was simply, “we’re busy.”
Now it’s been over three months, and I’m still waiting for someone to fix it. The unit is still broken, and it continues to leak water inside my trailer.
This has been the worst customer experience I’ve ever had. I’ve never been so disappointed in a product or a company. Avoid Gree and NCE at all costs.
Overall, I found that Gree is trying to charge you premium prices for a mediocre product. Their claims are very promising, but the product fails to deliver. Their after-sales services are also disappointing at my place in India. I would give Gree 2.5 stars out of 5. I purchased a Gree AC last year and a Mitsubishi AC this year for comparison.… Read more
Both are 1.5-ton 5 stars installed in similar rooms with 3-4 hours of sunlight.
Clearly, Mitsubishi is a winner as its AC is exceptionally silent, and cooling is very effective. Where Gree fails to cool a 140 square feet room even at 24 degrees, Mitsubishi makes you feel cold even at 28 degrees Celsius in a 140 sq ft room.
Gree's outdoor box is noisy, even if I compare it to my 7-year-old other AC.
Its compressor makes a noise similar to a helicopter when the compressor is running at full capacity, It can become a significant noise if your sleep gets disturbed easily. Sometimes it is audible in the second room as well.
If we talk about the servicing part, so far I have had 2-3 bad experiences with Gree. They try to delay the first year's free services, don't give you any reminders, and when you book a service using their toll-free number, they simply just forget about it until you remind them after 3-4 days.
So far, I am not happy with Mitsubishi's services either, but at least the AC is a work of art and doesn't disappoint you.
Overall, I felt that Gree is trying to charge us similar to Mitsubishi, but fails to deliver a quality product.
And yes, don't get influenced by the marketing gimmicks; they are very smart at marketing.
I was talked into putting a Gree inverter unit for a ducted system. The unit has not lived up to the hype, it is extremely noisy , can be on for hours and never achieve the “ inverter” reduction in operation noise so definitely not energy efficient. I have the control inside the house set at 28 degrees when the outside temperature is in the low 30’s but humidity high
Fried Boards Galore – 4 unit mini split system installed 7/2022 & I've had 2 units go down multiple times. The manufacturer gree takes weeks to get you the board, and even then it went out again and yet again (had a licensed repair tech out today, replaced indoor and outdoor boards to no avail, inside board instantly fried). I've even had to replace an outside unit… Read more
because they could no longer get just the board. I would strongly recommend another manufacturer, there's a reason why Gree is cheaper.
Frustrated – Air con itself is fine. If fan is low then noise level is fine. The higher the fan the louder, as expected. So why two stars? My TCL TV is turned on with every action on the Gree remote. Both are in the bedroom, so if I turn AC off when I'm half asleep, I need to have TV remote, wait for delay, then turn TV off. Gree & TCL appear to run on same IR code, believed to be the default as its cheaper than changing.
Rubbish Brand – We have 2 units in the house, though they cool and heat ok the noise is atrocious. You can't watch TV or sleep from the amount of noise they make. The one in the bedroom takes 10 minutes to shut down for some reason and I've had a/c fridge mechanics look at it. Don't waste your hard earned cash on this rubbish.
The noise! – We have two units in our house and both of the units make so much noise. Like creeping and cracking of the plastic. Can’t sleep with it or watch tv. They cool and heat well. But the noises are unbearable.
Gree customer service – My Electrician has been contacting Gree Aircon now 3 days in a row only to have zero communication, but today we get ill get an technician to call you back sometime tomorrow. Well i run a business an require this to operate, so if this is how Gree does business looking after trade people then on flow to customers. You know where you can shove your… Read more
aircon and ill be going to a better company provider who are far more on the ball. Below par customer service.
Gree Hyper Split system – On an efficiency website Gree Hyper Split comes in 5 STAR for both heating and cooling. We bought one, very quiet, and works well. Also Gree offer 6 year warranty other companies only 2 years. Also later found out that Gree make about 1/3 of all aircon systems in the world. They make for Daikin in some markets and make other brands too. So while… Read more
not a well known name in Australia, they seem like a major manufacturer. We have been very happy with our Gree Hyper AC.
Gree GWH12MB 3500 watt – I've had mine for 9 years and it's working well and efficiently. So why comment? Because I'll complain when things go wrong but this machine has been going really well.
Works Well – This aircon works really well. But I found setting the timer for the air conditioner to come on and turn off at a certain time a real mission. The instructions are not intuitive and the manual just as confusing. It heats and cools my small unit very well. My only other gripe is that when it turns off there is a bit of a delay and I generally don’t leave the house until I have confirmed it is off.
Unbelievably noisy!! – We were talked into this brand of aircon for heating and cooling by our electrician as being the best price and just as good as the Fujitsu brand we had always had, as they are so quiet. We queried if it was noisy and told it was not but after having it installed (to replace the Fujitsu that got burned out by something getting in the outside… Read more
motor) we went for the Gree but due to it's terrible noise, we couldn't hear the tv or phone and the noise of the outdoor motor was horrific! Such big vent around the motor that anything could get in there too. Had to pay extra to have it ripped out and replaced with a Fujitsu. Chalk and cheese!!! Don't be fooled into getting a Gree!
