Why am I STILL not being notified of gumtree messages? They show on screen, but no alert. Also the emails ALL go to spam, therefore VERY hard to know when a potential buyer is in touch. I’ve emailed gumtree tech and go ZERO reply

Maria, even if they do reply you will probably find them a scam. Gumtree isn't safe anymore and hardly worth using I'm afraid.
I agree with Tony. Terrible place now. Everyone seems to be a scammer. I had 5 from 5 trying to run a banking scam on me. The platform should be shut down.

After you sell something there are a series of boxes you can tick to explain to Gumtree why you are deleting the item. What is the green box that asks "Let other buyers know that this item is no longer available" mean? I never tick the box in case Gumtree sends an email to everybody who looked at the item. I would not want that to happen. Can you explain exactly what happens and who gets notified if that box is ticked please.

Hello I don't know if Gumtree is having tech issues or if it's a scam. Someone sent me a message and by the time I got to it I couldn't read the message when I clicked on there messages. The copy of the message in my email read as a reasonable reply (asking to post to her location) and on my desktop I was able to view the profile which also seemed reasonable (highly rated, had sold items and was a gummie since 2017 ). I tried to reply that I couldn't read the reply but it said the conversation was reported to gumtree. I just re installed the app and the same issue. As the profile was reported I deleted the conversation but I think the profile was indeed legit.

Reported a scam ad, got blocked by Gumtree! Doesn't make sense to punish those trying to help. What's the point of reporting scams if you get blocked. I thought reporting suspicious activity would help protect users, not lead to retaliation. Can someone explain this to me?

Yes, Gumtree have blocked another scammer, certainly Gumtree is getting better. However, they really need to filter new users as most are scammers.

I post an AD on gumtree, there are four buyers send me message. While I wish to reply them , I find they all showed" this user has been blocked" . So it means I am blocked by gumtree or these four buyers were all been blocked? And why it happens? Thanks?

I have the same issue. Gumtree blocked a "since 2011" user on me because it seemed suspicious. Now I can't message them. I can spit the scammers from a mile away. This wasn't one. This is what happens when online companies use A.I. instead of real people to police their websites.
