Comfy but only last 12 months – Only got 12 months out of them until the bottoms started pealing off. Also not very puncture resistant but they are one of the most comfortable boots owned and they look great. Show details
Wouldn't stand up to hard use – Initially felt great, then the zipper snapped off one of the boots after less than two weeks of wear (indoors, non-worksite). Now that boot keeps unzipping itself and becoming loose. Wouldn't buy again. Show details
Rename: Not Much Hard Yakka – Stitching came apart after 6 months of what was not particularly hard yakka. Overpriced and over rated.
Really crap – After 6 months wear, it has deteriorated.see photos of 5he boots. Show details
Look and fit great, but really uncomfortable on my feet – Bought these a few months back. They look awesome, fit really true to size and they felt good to start. But after a week or two I noticed my feet were getting really sore across the arch and heel. I thought it was something else so kept wearing. After another few weeks it clicked. They have a padded insole, but no real support. My feet are still… Read more
struggling a few weeks on. I have replaced them with some mongrel boots and the difference is obvious. Talking to a few other people in store they have had a similar experience. This has really put me off hard yakka boots
3rd Pair – These boots are very comfortable and durable considering what I put them through on a daily basis. The price was quite reasonable too and the delivery was fairly speedy as well
Not fit for purpose – Got a pair for my son, 15 year old skinny lad, said they were good but... the soles fell off within 2 hours of wear. Both shoes. Sure I can glue it back on... But at 150 odd dollars that is really poor form. Show details
Not suitable for heavy duty – Very comfortable and light. But not suitable for wet and muddy conditions, and the zipper doesn't stay in place after a while. /Pictures taken after eight months of wear/ Show details
I love these shoes. And the hint of purple is cool – Bought the black and purple 3056’s and they are the most comfortable show I’ve had in a long time bar none. Waterproof, safety toe thingy and non slip soles that do what they say. And they look fabulous. Love the side zips. So handy for arthritic fingers. Show details
Great non slip work boots – I purchased a black pair of these about 6 months ago from a local work wear store. I usually buy Oliver work boots but there was no black ones available in my size so I thought I'd try something different. Initially they felt great but then a couple of days later my feet started hurting on top (one foot in particular) from the hard tongue seams… Read more
pressing on top. I usually walk to work (about 25 min walk) and this is when it was most noticeable, during work not so bad. It did take a week or two to break them in and since then they've been perfectly find.
I did treat them with some Dubbin to help with waterproofing as they do get exposed to a lot of water at the end of the shift. That seemed to have worked well for a while, but it seems like I need to keep up regular application to keep them more water proof. I've found if exposed to a lot of water when hosing down the floors etc I do end up with wet feet at times . The thing I'm not happy with is that as a result I end up with purple feet, obviously the dye used in the shoe materials inside isn't colourfast, and I know it's definitely not from my woolen explorer socks that I've had for many years now. The boots seem to take a while to dry out once wet on the inside too,
Quality wise the eyelets are starting to look a bit rusty, the shoelaces broke unexpectedly (even though I mostly use the zip... but at least they came with spare laces) and the thing edging strips around the toe bump seem to be starting to come away, but it seems only cosmetic, all stitching still seems perfectly fine.
For their size the shoes do feel kind of heavy, it would be great to see these with a synthetic type toe cap which would make them lighter.
The most impressive thing about these shoes is the sole, it looks like it's made from natural rubber, it's a flat sole without a raised heel and it's absolutely great for wet floors / tiles etc. The most non slip shoe I've ever work I think. Granted greasy floors would still pose a risk but I would certainly recommend these highly for their non slip feature!
They seem to have lasted pretty well for the last 6 months, as grippy as the soles are the wear seems relatively minimal, usually for something so grippy I might have expected it to be a softer compound and wear quicker than they otherwise might.
I would purchase this brand again, just a shame about the purple staining on my feet whenever they get wet. And the zip retention could be a bit better, the zips do tend to unzip a little at times.
All day comfortable boots – I purchased a pair of hard yakka 3056 women’s work boots from Bunnings for $135. I am definitely getting my money’s worth out of them if not more. I’m on my feet for up to 12 hours a day at my job and these boots provide me with comfort and support feet and legs don’t get sore. Their the type of boot you just don’t want to take off. They look… Read more
