Hard Yakka overalls: plastic snap fasteners too weak – I have a Hard Yakka size 107S Made in Fiji blue 100% cotton overalls and the plastic snap fasteners are annoyingly weak. When squirming around underneath a car the fasteners pop open. I fail to understand why they would choose to use a fastener that is suited only for a bed quilt cover. A pair of light duty overalls I have from years ago (King Gee poly/cotton) have metal snap fasteners and they stay closed and do not break apart when working under a car. The metal fasteners have no corrosion or rust so that cannot be used as an excuse for plastic.

Replacing the plastic fasteners with metal is not an option as I have it on professional advice that removal of the plastic ones would leave a hole and metal fasteners would have to be located in a different position.

I complained to WORKWEAR and to their credit they sent me a replacement. Sadly, the replacement overalls have exactly the same problem.

Choose wisely when purchasing overalls and ensure that they have metal snap (line) fasteners; otherwise be prepared to wear a t-shirt underneath the overalls or show your bare chest unintentionally.

Very disappointed.
