We were very pleased with HDB constructions especially with other previous companies and tradesmen who were poor quality and never delivered what they promised. In summary the positives over other companies is that HBD Contructions ideliver a quality product and they are always dependable and communicate in terms of the clients needs which is always a big bonus.

Renovation below average standard – Our project started off well with good communication but this soon went downhill, with an evident lack of focus, extremely messy worksite and spaces, and poor quality of workmanship ensued. correctly, door jams and archs not level with existing door frames and cavity slider frame not installed correctly, were some of the issues. During the bathroom demolition we were not happy that we were not asked if we would like to keep our old copper pipe and brass fittings that were removed, as recycled copper and brass can achieve between $4-$6 per kilo at a recycler.

The tiling albeit done by a subcontractor employed by the builder does not have enough fall on the bathroom floor in the shower recess and some areas slope away from the drain. The only way to fix this without the extremely costly exercise of ripping up the shower floor is to set a barrier on the floor across the opening into the shower. Progress payments were invoiced with variation increases, some we were aware of but others we were not and the amounts of these variations were ridiculous and just a rip off, even though we initially spent weeks finalising costs so this would not occur before the builder was formally engaged to commence our job. We will never use this company again for any of our future projects and do not recommend them.
