Rude, hung up on me – The person spoke …and spoke, and I really didn’t let me get a chance to respond. In the beginning, she asked me how I was, I said not well. By the time I got to speak, I simply said, No I don’t have time. Resulted in a hang up, by health spotter

Was Good once got burned the second time – I was a fan of Health spotter because they can do a lot of good with finding a good deal for you which they did when I switched from AHM to NIB - the second time around however I got hipped! The opportunity to get an increase in my physio requirements which was the main thing I wanted to switch for and was told by the consultant that my cover… Read more

would go from 350p/y on physio to 800 per year for an extra $11 per month by switching from NIB (106p/m) to BUPA (told 117) A number of days and a week or so went by, without any email or reference of the changes or what my new coverage entailed. I eventually got a txt message from Bupa with my member number to log in, so I could finally see my cover. I was horrified to find out that my monthly cost was $145.90!!! Not what I was told over the phone at all and I would not have accepted this changeover if it were the case. Also the $800 benefit I was sold on was also another untruth and was $750. Not a big deal but the lies keep adding up. Whats more the guy got my email wrong and if it weren’t for Bupas good self service I might still be scratching my head until I saw the first bill from Bupa. Now I have to see what I can do to alter or change my cover as this is over my budget for health care by a huge margin! Be careful on what they tell you over the phone

I SAVED SO MUCH MONEY! – Got a phone call from a nice young man called Kieran, who said that he could get a comparison organised for me and my wifey on our health insurance. I was impressed by his professionalism, so even though I usually don't take these types of calls, I trusted him and went ahead. Just a few simple questions and then was put through to the comparison… Read more

service. I am so happy I took this call: turns out that I was paying thousands extra for things that I didn't need (like IVF), and now I'm on the best cover for us at a much more affordable price! I suggest everyone does this review: you've got nothing to lose!

Misleading complaints everywhere – Don't be fooled by the complaints, I used to work here and we genuinely tried our best to help people get into a better financial position with their health insurance. Most of the complaints you see are from people who would ask for a call back, then continue to not pick up the phone over several attemps. The finale of the circus would end with them yelling down the phone asking why do we keep calling? Strange.

Doesn’t appear to be a scam despite these comments hey – Was requested by one of the agents Hayden to leave a review on his service and HIC’s. Super positive young bloke who was super understanding when I wasn’t able to meet the appointment times we set. Finally found a day that worked, he was great to have a chat to and felt like he was a human on the line not just another scripted robot. Turns out I… Read more

was on the best deal for my needs already but true to there word they told me to stick with hcf as that’s the best plan for me rather then up sell me on unnecessary service. Would recommend.

Unsolicited SPAM Calls - Relentlessly – I kept receiving unsolicited calls to my mobile phone from 'Health Spotter' at all times of the day even though I have never made an enquiry to this company or its affiliates. The number they were calling from was 0489 988 918. I eventually had to block the number to stop the daily and twice daily calls.

Spammer called I am DO NOT CALL REGISTER – Did not answer call as I was busy. I called back and got a recorded message saying it was from Health Spotter. I am on the Do Not Call Register but as they only offer a solution to stop calls is by sending an email I was suspicious so I blocked the number

Suspicious – I received a call from a very polite lady, who said she was from health spotter...I told her my husband deals with that, she said it didn't matter and if we had private health insurance, I said we did. She asked what plan we were on etc...I didn't want to talk to her so just said I don't know, my husband deals with that, she then said doesn't… Read more

matter, how much do you pay per fortnight, once again I gave the same answer she said she'd ring back. She rang back today, exactly the same questions, asked my birthdate, then asked my phone number, I told her the same one she just rang me on, her excuse was that she needed to write it down. She then put me onto another person and I could hear her debriefing a guy who sounded like he had some form of authority, he asked closed questions which require yes/no answers, asked me to hold on while he makes a comparison and we get disconnected. He said he was from "I compare" so she's from health spotter and he's from "I compare" and they both said they work closely with our health insurance BUPA. She initially called me because she wanted to do a follow up after an enquiry I made about 6 years ago. On doing a google search on the number they rang me on, it appears they have numerous numbers that they ring from. They may be polite, but I don't do well with questions requiring yes/no answers, especially with the myriad of scams going on.

Lovely young lady suggested I review my insurance – It was a cold call but I just wanted to see where the conversation was going. Turns out I was paying for things I didn't need so went ahead with the free comparison. I was still getting the best possible deal on the market for what I needed so I was told to stay with the same fund. The very polite young lady was very assertive but its definitely… Read more

not a scam. They also don't ask for any personal information other than your email which turned out is optional and your first name.

Commission-seeking + cold call + ignoring Do Not Call Register = NO, NO, NOT EVER – I was on a call on my mobile to a business, and was on hold while they made some enquiries, when a cold call came through. I'd never heard of Health Spotter, but once I heard the caller say that they were calling from an organisation of that name, I realised that it was obviously nothing to do with the first party returning to me, so I merely… Read more

told the caller to "go away" in order to quickly get rid of them and keep myself free for when the first party came back to me. Had I not already been on hold with the first call, the cold-caller would have received my usual lecture about having made an illegal call to a phone on the Do Not Call Register (which I later reported to ACMA as I normally do with such calls). Instead, I later googled for Health Spotter, found their website and what they claim to do, and quickly formed the opinion that they must be an outfit of commission-seeking salespeople who are not to be given even an atom of hope of getting any business from you, or you'll never shake them off. Apart from all that, I simply refer the reader to the equation in the title of this review.

Cold Call annoyance – Received a cold call from Health Spotter. Yet another completely annoying addition to the day for which I did not ask. Such a waste of time and yet you are supposed to be polite! (Which I was). Can't these people find a useful job?

Politely declined then got an eff you! – Received an initial call from Health Spotter and knew it was going to take some time to go through the spiel so asked for a call back when it suited me better. When they phoned back, I listened to what they had to say, explained I'd only just recently (in the past 4 months) reviewed my health insurance fund and changed accordingly. Was told I… Read more

should be reviewing every few months (um no, I do it yearly!) and that I was under no obligation. I explained I understood but was not interested in wasting anymore of the operators time as I would not be changing and wasn't interested at this stage. The tone of voice changed immediately to a "whatever" tone and as I was about to say thanks and goodbye, heard a eff you before she disconnected the call. Needless to say, I will not be recommending Health Spotter to ANYONE. Extremely unprofessional and pushy.

Cold calling, pushy and insulting – Got an unsolicited call, told them I’m happy with my current insurance. Was asked if we could just “have a conversation” about it, and did I actually have insurance already. I told him again I did and I was happy with it and had already done my comparisons. He then went on to insult me by telling me ‘a lot of people say that but they haven’t done a very good job comparing’. He was lucky I’m not as rude as he was.

Totally rude, obnoxious and pushy – I was called 06 July 2023 at 10:55 on a work day The operator, a girl called Casey, was inquiring about reviewing my health insurance After explaining that I had recently reviewed by policy and was happy, she pushed on trying to force me to listen to her dialogue. Very rude – Got a call, lady seemed nice till I told her I check my own insurance and am confident I have the best. she said it didn't hurt to check and I said I am just not interested by thanks anyway, she was rude and said "well we are just checking what is the harm" then hung up abruptly.

Scam call company – Got cold called at work saying I had given my number in a competition and had agreed to be called. That's a flat out lie because I literally never enter competitions (for this very reason) and absolutely never give out my phone number to anyone who is not family and I keep a separate work phone. People are busy and don't need some blyat ringing us while we are working or driving to pick the kids up from school. If I want it I will ring you. And I've blocked 20 of their numbers already and they just spoof new ones. It's old now bugger off you mudachods

I have reported to ACMA as harassment – I have never requested this service, am on the DNC register and constantly get hang up calls from this organisation - so every time they ring I will forward the spam to the ACMA on 0429 999 888 if you also choose to do this be aware that standard message charges apply.

Rude and raised her voice – Got a call from a woman who said I had filled in some competition so it gave them permission to ring me. She started asking me questions about insurance. When I told her I was working now and didn't have time to speak to her, she said “I don't think so” I then told her I was going to google health spotter to make sure it wasn't a scam site and she got really shirty, raised her voice. I hung up on her and blocked the number

May be using stolen information, false claims about a lottery – Got a call form 0423 181 103 (Flagged as a SPAM number by Google) announcing them selves as "Health Spotter" and asking me about health insurance. The lady calling was certainly an Australian, not from overseas. I called the number back and it had a voice message confirming it was Health Spotter. I immediately asked where they got my number from… Read more

and she claimed I had entered some lottery run by a gift card company. I have NEVER entered any such competition nor have I ever entered my number on any web site or given it to any store in connection with any gift card.

When I highlighted that I was on the "Do not call" register, she fobbed it off by repeating that I had signed up for a lottery and that the terms and conditions for that lottery allowed for them to pass on my details to 3rd parties for the purpose of marketing.

I have never heard of these people, their web site does not have the usual "Who are we", no contact details, just tp places on the site where you can request to be contacted or request to have your number removed - a number they should never have called in the first place.

I suspect they may have got my number as a result of the Medibank data breach, with some unscrupulous operator selling a list of numbers to someone associated with or working for this site (Marketing department).

I have contacted the privacy Commissioner (OAIC) on 1300 363 992 and was told to lodge a formal complaint as there appears to be a clear breach of privacy under a section of the Privacy Act.

If you get such a call, be insistent on finding out where they got your information and if you are not happy, contact OAIC.
