High Sierra

I purchased this bag in January 2026 and used it only a handful of times — three trips from Sydney to Perth and two to Melbourne. Despite such light use, the side of the bag had already torn by April 2026, just three months after purchase. I returned it to Myer under warranty, and they sent it to the supplier for assessment. After waiting more than a month, the claim was rejected, with the supplier stating the damage was “wear and tear.” This response is extremely disappointing, especially considering the high price of the product. The material quality is far below what you would expect for the cost.

It’s frustrating that Myer does not stand behind their customers or the products they choose to stock, allowing low‑quality items to be sold at premium prices without proper support when issues arise.

Great Backpack / bagg – I purchased a High Sierra wheeled backpack in the mid 2000's and have used it extensively in travel all around the world over the years, with never a problem, until a recent trip to Scandinavia, when the wheels both disintegrated due to the rough cobbles in many locations. Upon return to Australia, I inquired about replacement wheels and was advised that the system had changed & that the old wheels were no longer available. The Samsonite people offered a replacement bag from the current range which is not exactly the same, however near enough for me to be happy. Apart from the wheels the old bag was still in good usable condition despite the best efforts of airport baggage handlers to destroy it.

I recommend the products and the after sales service that comes with the Samsonite products, Thank you Samsonite!
