Replaced a 32" in bedroom, so the upgrade is welcomed as old TV was not smart TV. More happy about the price we paid for this unit, the Hisense range is my go to for bedrooms and such, 3 yr warranty is great to have and their VIDAA platform easy to use. The drawbacks for price are possibly dated tech in device, or missing features. There will be plenty of cons for some, but these are fine for price you pay for the brand and features that matter.

Pros -Price!! - on sale for $300, Full HD, we would have wanted 32" again but smaller TVs are hard to get in Full HD -The VIDAA app is great, plenty of free to watch options and setup was easy -Still has Optical out for soundbar output -Speakers are good, better than I thought -Looks great, stylish, and perfect for bedrooms -So far seamless tech connection to apps, sign ins, setup and such, software seems stable and same as on higher end range.

Cons -I find the remotes for Hisense to be ok but cheap. Loud click noises, cheaper plastic and they probably wont last, the layout of the remove is great thou. Pause thou, I want to Pause, not then have to press OK -Smaller TV, Bluetooth missing, this would be nice to use with headphones -Mounting, It could be me but the TV mounts are very closely spaced and we used the exiting TV mount and could not get it to sit on the mount straight. We may need to buy a new mount but the TV rear did not feel solid, so invest in a good mount and check. - Wi-Fi 4 - though it works, this is quite old standard and I have found on my home network being WiFi6, buffering can occur at times, yet other devices next to it work fine.

Purchased in at JB Hi-Fi Online Store for $283.

I was looking for a budget TV for the bedroom and based on other retail website reviews and testing in store I chose this. The picture and sound are excellent for the price but after a couple of months of ownership that's where anything positive I have to say stops (one star each for those). The smart interface and apps are dreadful. The home screen uses half the screen space for annoying, flashing and sliding adverts for services you'll never use with no way to turn them off. The VIDAA operating system is extremely sluggish (and this is their 2025 model). There is an annoying 'checking for firmware update' feature that flashes the power light for about 5 minutes at 2am in the morning (even with turning off the standby feature for that light in settings). I have now logged out of their OS account and completely disabled any network connection and it still does this. So in the absence of a reply from Hisense Support (I've waited months already, so doubtful) I'll be putting black tape over the nuisance.

My solution for the other three stars? I connected our 10 year old Apple TV HD unit (1080p) and use the HDMI-CEC setting to allow the Apple TV remote to control everything. The Apple TV interface is completely free of any service adverts and in terms of snappiness and speed response it leaves the Hisense VIDAA in the dust.

I can recommend it if you are going to connect another streaming device like the Apple TV or perhaps the Google Chromecast, otherwise no.
