Hitachi P50X01 Full HD

9 years with no problems – We have owned this television for over 9 years . We have had no issues with it at all - picture and sound both very good for its age. Agree with many of the other reviewers that it runs hot, but on the upside we haven't needed the wood heater in years.

Bad – Good unit when it works, but would recommend to stay away since it does have power issue problems and hitachi do not sell in australia anymore. completely shut down, i use to get picsilation and frequent freeze frame i thought that it was foxtel, now i know its a sign og the unit about to shut down, apparently it has power issues ( circuit board??????).

Bad – rubbish, never buy as hitachi is not even in australia anymore. not many repairs do not even want to touch them. looks good, swivel base upper and lower scan pcb have gone. approx cost is $1300 aud. what a joke the tv is just hit 2yrs old. paid $2800 back in 2008. would not ever purchase hitachi plasma ever again. no one whats to help as out of… Read more

warranty. I strongly recommend not to ever purchase hitachi plasma. It is a bloody joke like harvey norman where it was purchased.

Terrible – Don't ever be fooled to purchase anything with Hitachi brand on it! Hitachi P50X01AU is only good for a boat anchor! This is absolute garbage! Regularly fails costing approx. $800 per time. Purchasing this lemon if the worst decisions I have made. Please do yourself a favour and steer clear of anything Hitachi! Looked good. Terrible – We are very disappointed with this TV and would never buy another of this brand again, would be sceptical about any electrical goods made by this company !! Upper and Lower power boards and the fan have just been repaired on mine at 2 1/2 years old. Fortunately I have extended warranty, but it still flashes on and off with fast moving sport. It has been a very expensive ($3500) mistake and would never buy one again!!

Good – Seen these TV's as low as $3000 whyich awsome for a 1920 x 1080i TV. worth a look when deciding which tv to buy. - FRC is excellent - price dropped dramatically since 1080i issue resolved - still looks amazing playing 1080p even though its 1080i - Motorised swivel - 108i not 1080p - not as many inputs as competitors
