Hobie Quest 11

excellent – I have a Hobie Quest 11 after a having had a number of other kayaks. This is a paddle only kayak and is light enough to carry & load at 24kgs. It is easy to get on and off, easy to paddle and tracks very well. I do have a rudder fitted and with the larger sailing rudder is recommended for better steering response. I also use an electric trolling motor which drives it very well. It's totally safe to use in rough water being a sit on top and self draining. I've paddled this on a 5klms trip and was a pleasure. Can't go wrong with this one for all the family or even paddling close offshore. I haven't tried this in the surf yet but small waves up to 3ft should be fun and easy to catch in this kayak. I also have a Revo 11 with the vantage seat and don't mind using either when I take others out with me. Enjoy this if you don't want the mirage drive system. This would be good in mountain streams with shallow water and rocks where the mirage drive could be at risk of damage. Also great storage in this model. Highly recommended.
