Would the 22" Howa 1500 308 be more accurate than the 20"?
Hi Tim, you tend to lose around 25-35fps for each inch less of barrel length and not that much accuracy wise at shorter distances. Generally, balance, weight and performance wise, the longer barrel could be expected to be a better performer at longer distances over 200m.
What is the best thing to do with my Howa 1500 chambered in 3000 Blackout? It has a tactical stock and tactical scope paired with a woodlands pattern quadpod (tactical). I have not had much luck with it at my local range so far and other shooters there have not been very complimentary about it. Now they have given me the nickname of The Count or at least that's what I think they said but I had my SAS style tactical ear muffs on. Someone suggested I put a tactical torch on the spare rail because pretty soon it will be put somewhere pretty dark.
What is the best scope to put on a Howa 1500?
The old shooters rule is that you should match the quality of the scope to the quality of the rifle but it really depends if you want to go hunting or target shooting. Just about anything would be a good match for this rifle eg my friend uses a piece of 25mm Grey electrical conduit but my preference is a plastic pirate telescope I bought at a two dollar shop, sub MOA every time.
