No longer a sort after brand – This unit I was talked into at the time due the the retailers liquidation. It was not the brand I wanted and I so wish I had either stuck with my first choice or not bothered. The onboard support system is a joke and has never operated since first turn on. HP has been known as a finicky brand for some time and it still holds true. Issues with peripherals from start, then the replacements were as bad or worse. The only time a technician attended the unit was not checked at all. I am stuck with this for the duration and my next system or laptop will never be HP. The basics worked. expensive for capabilities, too many issues and sorrowful technicians when sent. Temperamental, doesn't talk to other components well...

Excellent performance and design – The PC contains great features such as a powerful chipset, i7 processor and fast DDR3-1333 RAM. Purchased in July 2012, the machine has been very fast in all of its uses to date, incl. video processing, imag processing, 3D Gaming and general use. I have since upgraded to Windows and it now runs even smoother. I'm enjoying all of the features of the PC, such as USB 3.0, Blu-Ray player and a great physical design. The i7 CPU will definitely provide a great future-proof for the PC. 5/5 HP, well done. Performance, features, design, and price

Lemon warning! – We bought this computer in January 2012 for $1500. Window 7 was inside the machine. We switched it on and it took almost 10 hours to set itself up. It had some windows start up error but eventually resolved it itself. It also ahd some error which said corrupted recyle bin from day 1! A month later it had another startup error. Again it resolved itself. Then another start up error the following month - this time it took hours of fiddling to get it to work. We have tried running the in built HP diagnostic tool - but it can't find the daignostic image! At the time of writing this computer is 8 months old and still faulting randomly.

For the past two days I've been trying to get it to work - and even going back to settings which worked in the past isn't resolving its start up issues. It's like - one day it will start up without issue. The next day it will come up with an error message and only start in a temporary user profile. The kids can't create any documents in this temporary setting because they aren't saved on the computer. We have to back everything up for fear of losing it. I've tried running Windows fix solutions from the Microsoft site - no joy. I've tried contacting HP support - i just get automated responses and no human assistance. I wouldn't recommend this computer to any family - especially if you are trying to teach your kids or hubby to be computer literate. We will not be buying another HP anything because of our experience with this product. It came with beats earphones. Installed software is glitchy, no warranty service, keyboard glitchy,

Fantastic PC – I purchased an HP HPE Pavilion H81120a from Officeworks, and so far it has been the best PC I've purchased to date. While I knew this was at the high end of the home-user desktop PC market, I didn't expect it to be so good! It runs beautifully and looks very stylish. I've been running Windows Media Center while looking up something on Google and syncing my iPhone and it hasn't had so much as a hiccup. I had one issue, it seemed to crash when I installed Adobe PDF reader, but once I uninstalled that it worked like brand new again. The sleep function works great also, when I put it to sleep either using the Media Center remote or the Start button, it shuts down and is completely silent.

One thing to point out though, if you use an ethernet cable to access the internet, you need to change a setting in the device manager so that it doesn't wake up automatically. Price (under $1000), Virtually silent, Great specs. Sleep mode can wake up if a setting isnt changed.
