Hughes Lawyers

If you want a good Conveyancer then run in the opposite direction of Hughes Lawyers – Most incompetent Conveyancer ever. Put house settlement at risk, charged me for work that I had to chase up and had to take time off work and lose pay for. Rude and obnoxious to deal with. Will be seeking legal advice.

Warning warning – Before signing with Hughes for conveyancing, we called and asked if there were any hidden costs and were assured there were not. When we received the account, instead of $385 it had gone up into the high $500’s! Because settlement was delayed for ONE day! What a rip off. The real estate asked for feedback and am sure Hughes will not be recommended by them. John

Beware – Beware the fine print and Lawyer terminology. I should have gone with my gut feeling on this one. If it sounds too good to be true it usually is. was told if I wanted an itemised account it would cost me $440/hr to have it drawn up (standard fee). Needless to say, I didn't go for that. This was my first time using a Lawyer for Conveyancing. And the first time I have ever been charged for a failed contract, less than a week into the contract. On the limited contact I had with this firm, I cannot in good conscience refer them. I certainly won't be using them again.

Most incompetent lawyer ever! – Gina Hughes completely stuffed up a simply property transaction: * She refused to settle because I was self-acting & did not use a solicitor * She changed the settlement statement within hours of settlement with no notification to my buyer or myself * She took off the body corporate special levies that were not due until months after the… Read more

settlement date resulting in a short settlement of almost $5000 * Also did the same for my buyer * Will not lift a finger to get it back for us * She forgot to pay the correct body corporate fees at settlement so my buyer & myself have missed out on the discount * Her fees are exorbitant & go up quickly for any action at all DO NOT EVER USE HER SHE IS RUDE, OBNOXIOUS & INCOMPETENT I REPEAT DO NOT EVER GIVE HER ANY OF YOUR BUSINESS SHE WILL RIP YOU OFF!
