Postage seems high. Not crazy, but Syd to Melb for just a light weight battery. Maybe its Au Post. but about $18 for very small item put in a large box. Battery seems okay, but so far does not seem to be as good as the one the phone came with, and should be the original manufacturer, genuine battery. Maybe it's still calibrating.

Definately worth dealing with Ifixit – Had a problem with their supplied laptop battery for our Apple computer. Ifixit immediately responded offering a replacement battery or a full refund. I found their disassembly / assembly tutorials excellent. I highly recommend this company
Instructions are OK, with good photos. Incomplete kit sent – Good quality kit, with fairly good instructions. However, essential components were not included in the kit
Good idea with poor execution – The iFixIt "About" page says they are interested in all kinds of wear and tear that results in "almost-functional products" being thrown away. are less interested in repairs they can't monetise. iFixIt seem uninterested in alternatives to a repair e.g. Prevention iFixIt seem unwilling to accept that there are sometimes cheaper, simpler and faster ways of getting something to work... without doing a full repair.
IFixIt - Don't follow their own guidelines for posting - Don't provide any reasons for deleting posts - Fail to notify you when a repair guide has been deleted - Offer no right of appeal - Moderators are almost impossible to contact
iFixIt encourage users to create content...

...so it is disappointing when despite not being in breach of any of their rules they unilaterally delete a repair guide.
If you want to fix something that iFixIt sell a solution to, it's probably worth a visit. However, YouTube has a wider range of repair tutorials and is less likely to arbitrarily delete your work.
Let's hope that in future iFixIt clarifies their terms of use to specifically exclude non-gadgets (if that's their intention) and does a better job managing user contributed repair guides.

Replacement of Fusion Drive in 2017 iMac – I received the Ifixit kit yesterday and installed the new SSD to replace the old Fusion Drive. Following the YouTube videos from IFIXIT made it easy. All works they said it would. My Mac is soo fast now. Thanks, Ifixit.

Love their tool kits but their Australian shipping department needs a harsh talking to – I've purchased iFixit products before but via 3rd party sellers here in Australia and the first time I decide to order from their Australian iFixit page I get the parcel damaged with a large hole in it, the iOpener box also open and one of the flathead 2.5mm precision bit was gone, disappeared, lost in transit. you charge $30 for shipping I expect the items secured inside the box and with something like bubble wrap to protect the contents from ruff couriers who throw parcels around and leave them at doors without ringing doorbells. Your shipping department's manager needs a very harsh talking to because damaged and lost goods on arrival isn't ok, I expect more then items thrown into a box and it handed to the most careless courier you could find.
Update. After emailing iFixit about the loss of the flathead 2.5mm precision bit due to the large whole in the box and opened iOpener box for it to somehow fall out of, they sent me a iFixit Minnow Bit Set (in a better fitting box) which is a great addition to my iFixit tool kit collection so I'm much more happy now. I just hope their shipping department better packs items in the future and no one else has small items falling out of them while they rattle around in transit.
No communication poor customer service – I ordered a Protech tool kit exactly a month ago. As of now zero communication and still waiting. I was redirected from the US site to the Aussie site on the promise of faster service and shipping. If I do not get a reply to my recent email soon I will be looking at cancelling the order.
If you have a problem—there's nobody to call at the weekend. Best to install your battery weekdays – I purchased the correct battery for my MacBook and followed their detailed photograph instructions to replace the battery. contact form" box. I tried contacting them at the weekend, but no reply from iFixit Australia (not to be confused with another company called iFixit). I use my laptop every day, so had to reinstall the old battery, which works well enough for most tasks. Postscript: iFixit Australia refunded my money and did not request the faulty battery to be returned. I amended the rating from one star to three following their response after the weekend.
Exceptional product – Bought a replacement battery for by Dell XPS 13 9343. Slightly more expensive than the competition but easy to tell they used brand new cells. provide to replace the battery are also first class and have been added to my toolbox for personal use.
Perhaps an exaggerated review given my poor experience with one of their competitors, but will definitely be using them again if i need another battery.
Unreliable Company – I ordered iphone 6s battery from the IFIXIT company. They say they have now an Australian warehouse but they charge you $25 for the postage within Australia. After paying $61 to buy the battery and the postage, I realised that Apple change the battery for $79 hassle free. After contacting the customer support they said they use a third party warehouse and will contact the warehouse. A few hours I received the support team email, the status of the order changed to shipped. I contacted the support again and they said they can't do anything but I can return the battery after I received it. I checked their return policy and I found out I must pay for the return postage plus %15 restocking fee. It's shocking, It seems as soon as you pay they use an excuse of having a third party warehouse to not refund you. I don't know how these guys have received a good review on the websites but I wanted to share my experience with other people here.
