I have two of these supposedly whitewashed - the first deteriorated very quickly and started showing dirty looking marks through the paint that apparently were knots in the wood. Ikea did replace that one, but the second one has deteriorated more slowly. They will not replace it as it is now outside of their return policy - even though they know there is a fault with the paintwork process.
Good drawers and easy to build – Got the set of 3 drawers. Very simple to build, all the runners are pre-installed and slide very well even when full. Is a good solid unit and does tip easy (def still attach to wall to be safe though with supplied kit).
Amazing chest of drawers! – I have the Malm 6 chest drawer set. They are very deep and the castors are smooth. I love ikea furniture and these are no exception! They are very well made and this is evident when assembling the drawers.
Cheap but good enough product – I got the 3 draw 80cm version, and use it as a bed side table, the top has plenty of space to put stuff on and the draws are big and deep. It took me about 45mins to assemble, but would be confusing for someone who has not done anything like this before. It looks better in my home than at the store. The quality is ok, but its not as solid as other drawers, you can rock it from side to side easily. Ikea makes buying furniture easy, but I kind of feel guilty shopping there because its all made overseas, and will eventually result in the demise of our Australian furniture industry. looks good, dont need to pay extra for home deivery does not fell as solid as it looks, not made in Australia, you have to build it
