Love my Sunnan lamps – I have two of these fantastic Sunnan lamps and went into Ikea last week to buy another only to find they have been discontinued. Oh No! Why? Fantastic, green, easy to use anywhere lamp. Please bring them back. Particularly loved the pop out solar panel which made it very easy to find a sunny spot for recharge. So sad they are gone!

Surprisingly Good for It's Size – I was skeptical of this at first but my husband bought it anyway to have something in the house to use as fr night feedings. It has worked great for us so we decided to grab more middle of this year, bought another one for the house, and another two to give to in laws. Went back to IKEA in October this year for these and they are gone! Asked the… Read more

staff and was told that it has been discontinued! Such a shame because these are really good solar lamps to keep in the house especially when camping or using somewhere where there is no electricity.

Excellent teaching tool for kids – I bought this light for my 3 year old to teach him about solar energy. When it runs out of power he tells me it needs new batteries, which is an excellent segue into a learning opportunity on green energy and alternatives to a consumption driven society. He loves it, and tried to "put sun batteries" in a toy the other day by leaving it in the sun… Read more

The light itself is powerful enough to read by at night, and lasts for hours. Free light, green energy, teaching tool for youngsters

Best little talking point in ages! – I purchased my Sunnan solar desk lamp back in 2010 after seeing them in Ikea and thinking to myself "Zero Emissions" and starting to go green and prep for the inevitable / unknown. The Sunnan table lamp consists of a table lamp that was redesigned / engineered with better LED chips than the prior model and a Solar PV module that pops in and out… Read more

- this allows you to place the module at a window, or put it on the cars dash during the day so it can get a really good charge. Pop it back into the desk lamp and viola 'free light' for study or casual reading. They come in some pretty good colours Green, white, red, black, blue, orange, yellow and others that I have seen - so they will match any decor.

With my desk lamp I have the solar modules at the window and by having three lights I cycle the modules and use them as I need them around the house, so I have spare modules if I need further light during the night or extended periods - two or three modules are always handy and charged.

I can safely say that I get about 4 hours of use from the table light from one solar module, so about 16 hours from 3 modules. The LED's are rated for 20,000 hours life, but knowing LED's thats either which way - the table lamp that is with my mother has been used every day since 2010 and has not faulted once so there are no reliability issues there so far! This is a sure fire investment for a prepper, for when the lights go out or even during a storm or other event; just something that I find comforting to have as I can keep recharging the solar module as long as the sun keeps shining - free light at night 'perfect'!

With two of these lights flexed into a flood light you can light an average lounge room quiet well and some blogs from America are stating that people light up their houses with multiple Sunnan's? With harnessing the sun's rays - why not I guess (mind you they pay a lot less than we do at Ikea)...

Another benefit is that this lamp would be a good idea to teach kids the importance of being environmentally friendly and show how solar power works, something that most kids cant understand these days as light switches are their main go to. Cheap, solar powered to costs nothing to run after purchase, reliable quality! Bendy arm could be thicker or better designed - sometimes falls over is over extended.
