on the 1200x400 flush mount ,how do i hold the side clips up to fit through the cutout and subsequently lock down onto the plaster?

I believe we spoke on the phone earlier, there is no real secret to it, however working one side of the light at a time, and from one end of the light to the other, is the best method on the larger sizes.
Installed a illume skylight, panel has been working flawlessly for 18 months, however, now getting flickering on one side and what looks to be a water mark, however, we have had no rain nor does the panel appear to have any moisture on it. In the last 24 hrs the water mark was 2cm from edge and today it has spread to about 10cm…. What is the cause?

Hello, In our recent renovation we had two Illume skylights installed. The one in our small windowless bathroom seems very dim compared to our previous non led skylight which was a problem. Its a 400 square. Is there a way to make it brighter. Both are a similar intensity but it's more noticeable in the bathroom. Pat
Hi Patrick, It may be best to reach out to our customer service team to run through some reasons. 03 97685777 Most likely this would be due to the solar panel not being located in an ideal position, depending on your model you may be able to get an extension if required to move it. Ideally this is North facing and free from shade.
My illume skylight flickers none stop when switched on 240v but works fine on solar, would this be the led driver causing the problem, and if so where would I purchase a new one.

I had a illume skylight installed by an electrician. The skylight works during the day but not at night . I did purchase the remote control. I did notice after the electrician left that he hadn’t installed the Control Module. Would there be a reason for not installing it, and would it affect the ability to work at night.

I've purchased the 300 x 600 Solar panel Illume and as well as the remote dimmer control module. I've had the panel out in the sun for over 10hrs. Plugged it in with just control module. Got no light at all coming out of the sky light. Thought must be faulty. So I replaced everything. I set up the new one and still nothing. I've tried pressing the remote dimmer control button to match up with remote. Nothing. no blue led or anything. Please HELP Chris. Brisbane

my illume suddenly started to flicker on and off and the eventually stopped working we have had extremely strong winds and rain Do i need to get someone on the roof to check connections ?
Depending on the model the connection will actually be within the roof space at the light. Some larger models have another connection also near the panel. This could be situated above or under the roof line. So I would check the solar panel end since the issue started after the storm
Hi Sharelle, further to Nailbag62's comment, an exposed connection on the roof would be an incorrect install, however, could be the case. If any connections are exposed on the roof they will fail and cause the system to stop working. Hi I have just purchased a surface mount Illume for the wall the internal wall is brick and trying to keep it close to the ceiling the issue is the holding screws dont allow me to get it close to the old cornice and intend to make a frame.I have thought of keeping the backing plate in place drilling the four corners and screwing to the frame which i will make.Any issues with this? I have two other ceiling units which are great however the wall mount with no cavity is very difficult any advice greatly appreciated David

Hi, I am wondering if anyone has had any success in doing something to make the light less cool? I am happy with the amount of light that our 300 x 1200 Illume creates but it feels like a doctor's surgery lighting rather than a warmer home tone. I was wondering if it would be possible to apply a really sheer vinyl wrap over it that has a warm white tone to it. I know it would have to be really sheer to allow light to still show through but in the application we have our Illume in it wouldn't matter if the light was decreased slightly. Would anyone have any thoughts about whether this may be possible? I have a friend who is a sign writer who could fit a very sheer vinyl wrap for me. Thank you.
I'm looking at Skylights and my only option is an Illume. I'm concerned it is just going to end up looking like a fluoro light in my kitchen ceiling. Looking at either the 1200 x 400 or 900 x 600. Someone tell me otherwise and it will look ok...
better off using 12volt electric downlights. The Ilume are solar so don't work at night. Low illumination even on best sunny days. Don't waste money on this rubbish
Hi Jackie, if you can find an illume on display near you this would be the best way to make up your mind, you can contact local dealers via the illume website. The illume was designed specifically to look like a skylight and to be used where a traditional skylight cannot be used, as such we do not think they look like conventional lighting.

Are all the internal LED panels 24 volt 780mA ? I called the sales line an was told the light panels are 12V, but the panel has a sticker on it saying 24V, 780mA and 20W. Which is it please ?
Looking at purchasing but wondering if anyone has had any luck with the flickering problem with the dimmer??
The company never got back to me, no surprise there though. If you’re happy to have the light without the dimmer control option it works fine. I just disconnected the dimmer and I now have no complaints with how it works at all.

Hi, Contrary to the response from Illume, this is a well-known fault by our installer !! ... Illume supplies 3rd-Rate, poor quality LED drivers ‼️... My sister has had 5 of her LED drivers replaced by her instllater and the 6th Illume LED panel installed is showing the same problem !!

Yes it can , since it just clip mounts to plasterboard walls. But you'd need the cable from the solar panel to reach it to power it, plus the PSU needs to be secured somewhere, it cannot just dangle. That said, I'm not sure how effective it would be as a "window" . Essentially it would be a big light on the wall that comes on and off with the strength of the sun
Hi Teresa, Thank you for getting in touch. It will all depend on what rules that are set for your apartments. This is something you may need to check with your body corp. As a Solar Panel will need to be mounted on the roof.

Hi... Is it correct that if you have an ac driver plugged in, you have to leave the wall switch on all day in order for the illume to work from the solar panel. I thought that the ac driver was purely for turning the panel on and off at night.
Hi Madent, for the illume to run from mains power the wall switch will need to be switched on, however when switched OFF, the illume will run on solar power
So when the switch to the ac driver is switched off, the illume will work as a normal skylight alternative. That is, come on in the morning and fade out at dusk yes?

Great thanx...and if I wanted to turn off the illume whilst on solar during the daytime, can I also add the solar isolation switch kit as well alongside the ac driver..
Hi Madent, yes you can, the AC driver and the Isolation switch will need to operate on seperate wall switches however, but both can be used on the same illume
Thankyou, I was looking at the diagrams last night and found that the ac driver and the isolation switch connect in different places. If I may ask one more question... The illume I am installing in our kitchen is a 1200 x 300 and I will probably need to install a smaller one around the end corner. Is it possible for the smaller one to operate on the same solar panel or will I have to install a fresh solar panel.
With Ac driver I understand you plug into power outlet and it will switch from solar to mains, however can I still than turn it on amd off with remote? Thanks
Hi Jarrad, thanks for getting in touch. Yes you can use the remote to turn off your illume in conjunction with the AC Driver. Just remembering though when you turn off your illume with the remote it resets every morning. Any further questions please don't hesitate to call us.
Hi guys I have a illume skylight which is great, but now it is flashing at night I would say until the battery runs out , i have 2 others they work fine ,works perfectly in daylight any answers would be greatly appreciated

I have an illume 40 cm sq in a bathroom 8m sq There is no window to yhe outside. The light is very cool so the room feels cold and grey. Previously it had a window facing east and felt light and bright with the natural light. Any suggestions on how to remedy this?
Personally, I would look at changing the colour on the walls if possible and bring ‘warmth’ in that way, plus coloured fabric and decorations.
