Very disappointed – Unable to identify a completely destroyed window frame with their "industry standard equipment" however my 8yo with a lego star wars ship was able to push a hole straight through the window frame... But rest assured! If you bring it to their attention the managing director (who's 1700kms away) will take ownership and send you a passive aggressive email offering no real answer and block your phone number. CLASSY!
Bad experience – Don't waste your money using this organisation. The inspection wasn't carried out according to the standard and when raising issues in the report the manager is rude and dismissive. He wasn't even bothered with identifying an issue raised in the report that I raised with him.
Waste of time and money – Some 6 months ago I engaged this Townsville operation to do an inspection on a property I was buying. I should have seen the red flags when the report was 90% "Template" and 10% comments. The number of defects that I am now finding verges on either incompetence or inexperience. Granted everywhere in their report they comment "Engage a Professional… Read more
licensed contractor" to check anything, but they couldn't even see it or even make a comment about a possible issue. Total Waste of my Time & Money - go elsewhere.
Worst property building and pest inspection ever – I’ve had many property inspections done over the years. First time ever inspector didn’t spend any time site to show anything. 4 weeks later when actually moved in we found leaks that had obviously been occurring for some time. Photos sent with no reply. Never again, total waste of money to not identify common and easy to see building faults.
Basic Report Quoting things Anyone can tell you – The Rockingham Inspection was below average just did building and pest and not detailed on the Rooms, small damages. IMHO waste of 580$ very generic report maybe worth $250 and no evidence of photos of having been to each room. did not emails photos when asked quoted all building codes like a parrot when i questioned the inspection !
Great service – Peter was quick to respond to my query. Booking with the agent quickly to perform the inspection. He attended as scheduled and provided a detailed report the next day. He made himself available to discuss findings and was very helpful. Would recommend and use again. Thanks Peter
Efficient and thorough – I engaged with Peter and his services for building and pest on a property I’m purchasing. Peter was thorough and efficient with his work. He was full of information and answered all my questions thoroughly. I’d definitely recommend Peter.
Great job – Peter provided a thorough report and was prompt in undertaking our building and pest inspection. Very efficient and effective service, we really appreciated his help in such a busy period
Lying is NOT ok – If I could give a 0 I would. Save your money and go with a local Building Inspector. The building inspector that came and inspected our property before we bought it missed a 25mm gap in our roof which pours with water when it rains. He missed that because he didn’t get on the roof to inspect it thoroughly. Apparently under the standards it’s fine… Read more
that he missed it but what really frustrated me wasn’t that he made a mistake it’s that he lied about not getting on the roof because he said it was unsafe because he was by himself on the day. BUT he had another employee from Inspect my Home with him. Lying just isn’t a good look. Next time don’t lie and own up to the real reason you didn’t throughly look at the roof. Thanks
Efficient, helpful and thorough – Peter was prompt in his quoting and arranging a time for an inspection. Peter was thorough throughout his inspection and explained any property maintenance issues to me in depth, on site and clearly in his report. Thank you Peter.
Go elsewhere – We bought a house based on their building & pest report (northern beaches). They failed to identify a faulty roof (wasn't sloped correctly & had 5 leaks); a extension which did not comply with building standards, major mould issues, major damp issues (i.e. pooled water under the house which was so huge frogs lived in it); major drainage issues &… Read more
significant mould/ damp issues under the house. We have had numerous tradespeople incredulous that these issues weren't identified in the building inspection report. Go elsewhere, or get a second opinion if any seller uses this company.
Professional and speedy service – Fast service, great communication and professionalism all the way from quote to report. Peter was a recommendation from a friend and I can see why. Huge thanks for helping us with our tight timeframe Peter!
Bad inspection – I got my house inspected by [name removed] who works for inspect my home. I can not believe he never picked up on my rusted stumps. He said he done a visual inspection but he must of had his eyes closed. There is plenty of room all around the house and underneath. Just never bothered looking. Got it priced the other day and it’s 12k. I would of bought the house but got the old owner to pay for the stumps. Very upset and stressful.
Brisbane CBD and Bayside branch – I am very impressed with whole process, from innitial phone call to the end of the report. I used this company few times. Nathan, building and pest inspector was very thorough, professional and explained to me problems on site as per my request. Because of his thorough report, we discovered significant hidden damage on a well presented property. It saved us from making very costly mistake. Thank you! I will recommend this team any time.
Rude and unpleasant experience – Naively, I signed up to an inspection with Inspectmyhome based on the positive reviews of staff on their own website. I requested a pre-sale inspection to assist me in identifying issues to rectify before going to market and paid the fee on the day before the inspection with the expectation that I would be shown issues. I had called the company to… Read more
ascertain that this would be the case. On the day the inspector arrived with a trainee. From the outset, the inspector's demeanour was gruff and minimally communicative to me but, hey, everyone is different and he was on the job. He was also uniformed, asking if I was the purchaser of the property, something I assumed the office would have made clear to him before his arrival. During the inspection the only comment he made was that a pool gate needed to be serviced to be legal; however, that gate doesn't allow access to the pool area and even the trainee knew that. On his departure his verbal assessment was that property was "old and weather-beaten but alright". Next day I received the report which identified water issues that needed to be addressed. As I had been working with a builder to ensure the property was free of such issues, I was less than impressed that this wasn't drawn to my attention on the day of the inspection. I called the office and was advised to contact the inspector. The report didn't clearly identify where the problems were (...there are three showers and toilets in the building...) so I called him to clarify his findings. I couldn't find or replicate the issues he wrote about in the report and when I called again he was incredibly rude and defensive. The manager contacted me on my request. I explained to him that the service wasn't what I expected and he offered to send the inspector back. Fair enough; however, I would not want a rude and contemptuous individual back on my property. Whatever the inspector's issues, it doesn't augur well for the future that this kind of behaviour is being demonstrated as appropriate to a trainee. Ultimately a purchaser will initiate their own inspection. From my point of view I was given unnecessary stress about problems I can't replicate. I wish I hadn't believed the reviews on their website and chosen a different company.
Excellent, fast and thorough service! – I contacted inspect my home on a public holiday and within less then an hour they had the job booked in and organised with the real estate - it was so easy! The report was comprehensive and was produced in less then 24 hours from the visit. James then rang to ensure I understood everything and the actions required. I will definitely be using this… Read more
service again and would highly recommend them to anyone buying a home. This is my first home so I am extremely anxious to ensure I make the right choice and understand all the elements. James was great answering my questions!
Fantastic service and comprehensive information – So happy I used the services of "Inspect My Home". Peter was very thorough with the areas he checked. And very willing to have a chat after the inspection. I live interstate and wasn't able to be onsite during the inspection. After reading the reports, Peter took the time to discuss any of my concerns aka the fine print. I would highly recommend using Inspect My Home before buying any property.
Believe everything in the report – If you took notice of everything in the report then you would never buy a home. And the fine print - well that is an interesting read. Far too many what if's and why for's to make a rational and subjective decision. Also some things which seemed dificult to comprehend eg; "tile roof" when the house had a metal roof. Makes sense to just use my builder mate and his plumber to do a check instead.
Excellent Service & Fair Pricing – Thanks a lot for your help Craig. I don't have a building background and really appreciate you taking the time out to explain what you found in the inspection. Cheers.
