pride in doing the job properly. A special shoutout to Andrew, who was an absolute legend, such a genuinely nice guy and a pleasure to deal with. It really made a difference having someone like him on the team. Their pricing was also the best out of all the quotes we received, which made choosing them an easy decision and great value for the service provided. Communication was smooth, and the team worked efficiently while still being careful, which we really appreciated. It made a big difference knowing our things were in good hands. The only small downside was one of the guys in SA, whose attitude wasn’t the best, but this didn’t reflect the rest of the team at all, who were professional and easy to deal with. Overall, we’re very happy with the service and would definitely recommend Nigel and his team.

Got the job done – Moved from Tasmania to Victoria in July. Communication leading up to it was acceptable. No paperwork/contracts involved.. which was at a risk to myself (lost items not covered) and what would you know.. 2 expensive bedside tables were lost. the huge truck did a great job reversing up the tiny awkward street, that was impressive to see. Overall (apart from 2 lost items) it was good service.

Items damaged or disappeared, terrible response – First of all this company was extremely slow to let us know when they would be picking anything up (which date) and we had to hassle them to get answers and only received one at the last minute. furniture just never showed up. Repeated requests for information on what happened to it were ignored. Finally we were informed it had been left in the warehouse in the city of origin and would be delivered "sometime in the next few weeks". It was never delivered. We followed up for a year, nothing. They were extremely rude. When pushed very hard they simply claimed it had been delivered when no one was home (not possible considering the access to the delivery address - if no one is home there is nowhere to leave it). After that they refused to respond. They never refunded the money spent on shipping the item, nor did they cover the cost of the missing item. Worst domestic shipping company we have ever used.

I would recommend these guys no problems – I used Island Removals for a backload of about 2 cubic metres from Tasmania to Queensland in September 2018. The communication was good. Everything went fine. The price was right. I would recommend these guys to anyone and I would definitely use them again if the need arose.

Good service as expected – Moved a bed from Tassie to Canberra. Prompt return of calls and emails during negotiation, let me know when they would be arriving to collect, friendly and professional when loading and delivered undamaged and on time. Everything as expected.

Woeful company – Quoted on an interstate removal, items were delivered 3 months after pickup, after multiple sub contractors. Items arrived severely damaged through obvious careless handling ( friction and impact damage evident). When contacted about damage their answer was "call a lawyer, we have good lawyers ". Extremely disappointing service & unprofessional - everything that is bad about removalists typified by this company. Avoid at all costs !!!

Informal approach but delivery as promised – I needed to organise collection of goods from storage in Tasmania and delivery to Melbourne in a short time frame. Nigel and his team turned up at both ends on time, and all items were delivered in good condition at the quoted price. The team are a bit casual around communications, contracts and processes, which made me a bit nervous, but I had no troubles with anything in the end.

Island Removals - Terrible & disgusting – Their web site is a load of codswallop. It seems the company's office is the cabin of the removal truck. his mobile phone. And, when the truck arrived at the destination he refused to unload saying the roadway was too small for his vehicle, and 'the property must have good access.". This, despite the fact that trucks at least the same size or larger, constantly use the road. So I was told that I would have to pay another $200 for the hire of a smaller vehicle as 'they did not get the address until a few days prior', which was untrue. It was more like 4 to 6 weeks. And, hey, in any case haven't they heard of GPS? Maybe not as they are so totally unprofessional. When the 2 men finally arrived they just basically threw the cartons into the front room and, like "Duchess," with heaps of damage done, as well as leaving mud from their boots on the carpet. All with no apology. If you are thinking of using Island Removals DON'T - use a company with a good reputation - in the long run you will save on stress and even money,

At delivery they were practically throwing my boxes in the house and refused to move the piano inside even though it was paid for and just drove off. Made an already stressful move even worse. Do yourself a favour and go with a reputable firm. It will be more than worth the bit extra.
