Don't buy - they do not last – I bought one and it was great for a short time. Stopped working. At first I thought it was my own fault so I bought another.. it now doesn't work either. If I had seen the reviews here earlier I would have avoided. Don't waste your money here. Not sure how Jaycar are still selling them.

Terrible design – I have just purchased this awful soldering iron and immediately the four screws holding the tip onto the body kept working loose. I tighten them up repeatedly and they come loose again straight away. The steel screws are bedded into plastic and as they heat up they have started to strip the thread and no longer stay in. loose and has burnt me trying to resecure it. When sitting in the stand the screws work out by themselves and the iron falls apart and drops on to the desk, This product should be recalled as this poses a serious fire hazard.

Great for light work – Bought this one over two years ago to fix some switches in my ageing Mazda and up until recently there hasn't been a job it couldn't handle. I only recently hit a wall while trying to remove some busted caps out of a PC motherboard. While it performed this job admirably on an Toyota ECU pcb, it really struggled here. However it's still going strong with everything else so I'm very happy with it.

useless – Iron stopped working within 2 weeks of light usage, returned to the store exchanged for another one, died within a week, I would not recommend this to anyone, the fail rate of these units is terrible, In the end they gave me the next model up (orange handle) and its been working fine ever since faulty, high fail-rate

Rubbish – I bought one of these as I need a new iron in a hurry. Within 30 minutes of turning it on the iron suddenly went cold. I exchanged it for another one. This one lasted even less time. My previous iron had served me nearly 40 years before it failed. Don't waste your money. Unreliable
