Jet Tent Pilot Chair DLX

Camp chair – I purchased this chair recently for my wife, who used it for a week but it did not suit her posture. I have since been using it and find it very comfortable and well made. in my view it surpasses Coleman chairs which we had previously used. Unfortunately for me I purchased it from BCF for $139and two weeks later it was on special for $99, also I did not get the carry bag as I was not aware it was part of the package. However I like the chair.
Looking for right camping chair - Found It ! – Looking for right camping chair and I found It. I went to Rays, BCF, Tent World, Annaconda etc looking for a comfortable camping chair that I could sit in for hours. I almost settled on the Oz Tent Goanna Chair but found the Jet Pilot Chair DLX had more width for my legs to spread out than the Goanna. Also the lumbar support is awesome and as it has 3 adjustable points compared the Goanna has only one point. So Jet Pilot ended up being the most comfortable chair I sat in way above the rest (all chairs I could sit in) with the Goanna coming second. Also the new gray colour is much more appealing on the eye. Happy camping reviewers :)
At last a decent portable Camping Chair – Over the years I have gone through plenty of portable Camping Chairs, from the Canvas Director Chairs through the the mired of imported collapsable chairs. I bought a good quality camping chair manufactured by Coleman, it did the job well until I needed to get it fixed. The problem with many portable camping chairs is that the nylon feet break and getting spare parts are nearly impossible. Even the rudimentary emails to Coleman went unanswered for a while, then out of the blue, 6 weeks later, they replied that they do not have any spares for that model of camping chair. So I was left with a 3 yo camping chair, costing close to $90.00 which was unrepairable.
Into the bin it went and with it Colemans' reputation in my mind...never again!
At the recent Brisbane Caravan and Camping Show, I cam across, tucked away from all the caravans, was the Oztent group.
Ostend make the 30sec tent and have gained a reputation for a very reliable product.
There in there display was the Jet Tent Pilot Chair DLX.
The cost of this chair was $120.00, not cheap by camping standards, but now I have bought and used it...worth every cent!
The most important aspect is that every part, I mean every part including the feet are replaceable, the frame joins the feet and are bolted, yep, bolted with locknut bolts. No more press studs that you have to drill out.
You can adjust the chair lumbar supports to contour your body, has a weight rating of 150kg ( not that I weight that much), but it means to me, that the chair is of solid construction and it is.
Many times you have the bag the chair comes in, so you strap it to the chair or hang it off the chair and it gets in the way.
This chair, has a pocket in the top of the chair, where the bag gets put and thus it becomes a head rest as well as being put out of the road.
So simple and easy...a head rest and the chairs' bag holder...why didn't other manufacturers' think of that!
Then the good bits....packing up and warranty.
No more trying to get the collapsable chair into the tight bag, the back accommodates the chair, without all the crunching of the chair, sweating and swearing.
The warranty is for 5 years, all parts and labour...hopefully I will not be using it.

This is a follow up report of the Jet Tent Pilot Chair. We have had this chair for now over 2 years and it gets used quite frequently, for we are camping and going a plenty of day trips. I have been living in the East Arnhem Land area of NT for about 2 years and this chair has not missed a beat. The chair is still as sturdy as when the day I bought it at the Brisbane Caravan and Camping Show. The chair when not used, sits it a small garden shed at the rear of our flat, the material is still in prime condition, even though it has been subjected to some extreme heat and humidity siting in a tin shed when not used. Then when it has been used on our many beach trips, the sand does not get trapped in the closing mechanisms and thus makes it had to pack the chair up. The straps have not deteriorated, not have the plastic feet become brittle and the bolts with their locking nuts are still in place . The only small problem I have with the chair, is that the bag, that the chair comes in, is staring to show a few signs of wear and tear. This is a good solid chair, that will give many years of comfort to your camping needs.
