Sweet Baby alright! – You might think 5 watts sounds anaemic, but you'd be wrong, this thing puts out big time. Remember it is a valve amp. I only use it in my music room, but it has more than enough volume for that, and unless my wife's not home, it doesn't generally go above 4 on the volume settings. If I'm home alone and want to get loud it may get to 6 or 7. I do use a multi-effects pedal with it, otherwise you do need to crank it to get it to break up. It takes pedals very well, and has great tone. The control board is very simple, there's the on/off switch, the volume control, and two inputs, number one for passive pickups, and number two for active pickups, that's it. It has a Celestion speaker, and doesn't rattle. It also has the ability to run a cab if you want more headroom. I run it in stereo with a little Orange Crush 12 watt at present, it's not harsh when overdriven like the little transistor amp. It certainly feels solid enough, being a valve amp it is heavier than a similar sized solid state amp. I have had it for a good while now, and I loved it when I got it, and that opinion hasn't changed. For a little over $200.00, and for such simplicity, you really can't go wrong. I bought mine from Artist Guitars, the initial one didn't work, but their return/exchange process was so pain free, cost free, and quick, it wasn't a bother. These amps are really worth a look at, especially if you're wondering what the fuss about small tube amps is.

Purchased in for $229.
