I was looking for a washing machine and I assumed I as talking to the Chat Service of a White Goods Store. I asked some questions, but the answers were irrelevant. They did not even know the basics of the models I wanted. I was then asked to pay $2, which I did (I am not sure why I was so stupid) and today I found $55 on my PayPal account. I have never subscribed. I have no Account and I believe that these scammers should be stopped.

The initial contact with a "representative" is undoubtedly some sort of AI bot disguised as a real person, with somebody's photo and a bogus 5 star rating. Apart from the deceptive monthly fee which EVERYONE gets charged straight away without their consent, does Just Answer actually have any experts? I seriously doubt it.

Hi Angela The bank called me today and assured me that it wasn’t “Just answer”, apparently it was by absolute coincidence that someone fraudulently charged my account by $2? Seems a bit strange but apologies if it wasn’t “just answer”.

I have the same issue! Wanted to ask a question, told about the $2 refundable fee and charged $66AUD. attempted to.ask about this in another chat and it was closed by a moderated as i asked for.a refund. I will be taking this to my bank, absolute scam and dishonest when people are using this service for help!
Just Answer were in contact with me several times to see if they could resolve my issue, if I had pushed it they MAY have given me a refund but I wouldn't be sure. I had already cancelled my membership so I just let it go. Wiser now!

Make sure you have cancelled the monthly subscription! I don't know about Paypal's procedures, but I immediately cancelled the monthly subscription they deceptively tried to sneak in. My $66 initial charge is still pending on my credit card, and I will dispute that charge through the bank, when it becomes debited to my account. Also, Everyone who has been caught up in this scam should file a report with their local fair trading association or insurance ombudsman (Australia).

I was just talking to just answer and then it asked for my card no. Because a dozen scams came into my mobile, it was blocked. I went to my bank and was told to destroy this card, I filled out form and was told a new card will be sent in the mail. 6 days on, it has not arrived. Go to your Membership page on their site ... you will find Cancel down at the bottom...... pretty straightforward from there .... tho' I found that they had not actually cancelled my membership even tho' they had written to me saying they had. They are tricky criminals!!

This is my experience too - A SCAM by clever stealth. Dreadful!!!!
I had a look at the initial signing up process. They advertise it will cost you $2.00 which is refundable. Here is what is says: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page to join JustAnswer for only AU$2 (fully-refundable). While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the car Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two. Continue >> It then takes you to another screen to enter your credit card details and here is where they have the misleading part - signing you up for a monthly subscription. Make sure you contact them and cancel the monthly subscription. I contacted them several times via chat and they kept ending the chat. I finally rang them and told them how dishonest their service was and demanded that they refund the four payments that had been charged. They ended up refunding 3 monthly payments - better than nothing I suppose but they are seriously fraudulent. I can't believe they can continue this scam online. Obviously they get away with it because of the fine print that you agree to the monthly subscription when you enter your credit card details for the $2.00 fee. Stay away from them and please report them so this site can be shut down.
Exactly what Maureen said above. Misleading, sneaky, no way to verify qualifications, always cutting you off, won't provide a receipt, obstructive. Will be reporting to appropriate bodies and insisting on full refund. No service received at all. Didn't even get to ask a question. They are just after your money.

These are dreadful scam artists .... they have ripped both my wife and myself of for hundreds of dollars on different occasions - yes, we are (were?) both a bit naive! These ****holes offer an initial $2 initial fee with option to take expert advice. Both cases we said "No Thanks" but we have been charged $49 pm X2 per month any way, total over several hundreds of $$s before we noticed. These people are criminals.

My bank has refunded me back my money for now until the dispute is finished but I am worried the company will deduct more money next month. That seems to be a few peoples experiences. Just Answers has contested my recovery attempt, ING are considering. I will need to reinforce my case to be successful .... it's a bummer when you have to work so hard to reclaim a smallish amount of money (about $147) that you've had ripped off......
