Kaiser Baas R30
3 reviews
Android App Disappeared / Site Links Broken / No Response for Support Tickets – This camera was average at best with very few options and no intelligent management of files or camera monitoring with the Android application "Motor+". Now this app is no longer on the Play store website and the play store links from Kaiser Bass's site are broken.
Reviews rated the R30 highly but my in car experience has been very disappointing – Form day one Kaiser Baas R30 has been faulty. The "blue" indicator light keeps activating, this should only happen when the unit is connected via USB cable to a device. I reported the fault and was sent a new power cable but this did not resolve the fault. I was directed to return the unit to the service department, it was tested and confirmed faulty. A new unit was sent but the same fault is happening. I have now been asked to send the second unit back to the service department along with my new SD card, for testing. It is now over 3 months and I am no closer to having a reliable R30 in my car.
Update: as a last resort I purchased a special SD card designed specifically for dash cam in car recorders, all the problems I experienced have stopped! So the moral of this story is: Karen Baas should make it clear to future buyers you can only use a SanDisk High Endurance Video Monitoring Card!
Problems from the start – Reviewed the camera and most were very positive. On receipt I followed the directions to download the viewing program to my PC, opened the program and found that it was faulty, I repeated the download with the same result so using my Ipad I downloaded the IOS Program and found that it was for a different camera, repeated with same result so contacted their Tech Support and was sent a link for the Ipad that worked. Powering the camera via USB I did get the camera to work and record to the Ipad so installed the camera in the car. The Camera would not record so uninstalled the cable, etc. and reconnected it to the PC and it would not record so contacted Tech Support again. Whilst waiting for a reply the camera started up and I ran it for a couple of hours starting and stopping without issue so re installed it in the car and it only worked when it wanted to, so I gave up and returned the camera to the store. Buying an item that turns out to be faulty I can understand but the Software issues are another thing, their PC Software is incomplete there was no content past the first settings page, the IOS Software Download is for another camera completely. I spent hours reviewing cameras before buying this one and probably at least a full day trying to resolve issues with software, very disappointed.
