I have been using Kaspersky Anti-Virus since 2021 but in August 2025 the latest upgrade refused to work. Online support did not help and although they do reply both AI and in person there was no meaningful fix. I asked for a refund several times and they refused as they have a 30 day refund policy but it never worked since the subscription was… Read more

renewed including the initial 30 days. Some of the suggested fixes required an IT expert. Very disappointed. Currently looking for an alternative Anti-Virus.

I had them for a couple of years, thinking I needed them. After discovering that Windows Defender was sufficient, I found it impossible to stop the auto-renewal and cancel. There is no question that they deliberately make it very difficult to stop the auto-renewal. I reported this to the ACCC here in Australia, as this "dark pattern" whereby… Read more

they create an interface intentionally designed to make it difficult to cancel is ILLEGAL. I will never use them again and recommend you do not either unless you want to spend hours of your valuable time trying to cancel your subscription. Criminals.

DO NOT BUY KASPERSKY SAFE KIDS NOR KASPERSKY I was using kaspersky safe kids but it blocked Youtube, even though i'm 9 years old and could watch youtube, scientific sites, and at the weekends, then at the holidays it doesn't change much, PLUS, the transition onto the timeout zone needs to be approved (cause there is no aniation.) Avoid avoid avoid – Appalling customer service. Doesn't resolve issue, doesn't even accurately acknowledge issue, sends emails that are not relevant and won't answer direct questions. This used to be a good product, it's an absolute shocker now.

The included VPN is unreliable and slow – The VPN that comes with the AV package is terrible. Will work well for a while and then suddenly slow down to <1 MB/s which is totally useless. I've tried changing the configuration (with help from the Kaspersky team) but to no avail. I had no problems with the last AV package I used. I've now had to subscribe to Nord (which works very well)… Read more

Nightmare – Since installing the this "anti virus" on my phone a few weeks ago, multiple bank accounts/emails/multiple apps including my work (offer/bid/accept shifts and clock in and out) access has been blocked. Kaspersky a painful unintuitive mess – Kaspersky Antivirus was once the best antivirus but not anymore.. its not the detection thats bad.. Its great at that.. but the installation and changing passwords has made the program frustrating and frankly i dont need that crap.. Another venders product doesnt make you go through stupid hurdles.. i loved kaspersky once but im done now..

Kasperky's terrible autorenew business model – The software is fine... and I would use it again. BUT Kaspersky makes it impossible to cancel the autorenew on your account. You are forced to go to customer service to request that Kaspersky agents cancel the autorenew. A really terrible business model. Ss I said would use the software as I like it but will need to request cancellation of… Read more

Problems with installing Kasperky Premium, yet again – Kaspersky provides a useful anti-virus system as one of the better anti-virus anti-whatever set-ups that screw-up the average punter with a home computer. My being one of those punters, I have just paid Kaspersky for Premium protection for three devices as used by my family. Now I want to be able to use it. Kaspersky in the inevitable no-reply… Read more

email tells me I need an activation code, even though another bit of Kaspersky's impossible to comprehend website tells me I don't need one. So by stumbling around on Kaspersky's web site I blundered onto a tiny little icon that when touched opened a screen into which one could enter one's activation code. Okay, I entered my activation code only to be told it was invalid, stumbled around the web-site a bit more, had to reset my password as I make them too long and abstruse to remember (security of passwords etc) and then managed to ask for a new activation code, which, of course, was deemed just as invalid as the first one I had entered. But Kasprsky sent me a third activation code which I didn't bother to use and something of the Kaspersky av programme has found its way to my computer.

Ho hum, Kasperky; yet another crappy ill-designed web-site to confuse those of us without a PhD in web-sites. So Kaspersky; if in 24 hours my Kaspersky Premium does not self-install, I'll be asking for my money back. After several years of using Kaspersky your website has got worse. Fix it, or go broke.

And a day later, Kaspersky is reminding me that I haven't bought subscriptions to some other product that I didn't want and I have yet to determine how and when I can open and tell the program to do what I want, which is hunting viruses and getting the program onto two other computers, for which I have paid etc.

Moral: some of us are simple folk, so keep it simple, stupid!

SCAM ALERT Kaspersky will auto renew your subscription with little to no notice – Kaspersky is operating very similarly to a scam DO NOT buy anything from them. Kaspersky has taken up the practice of auto renewing your subscription and making it very hard to cancel it. This is a scummy practice. I would like to warn as many people of this as possible. Cheers.

Useless Support – Product is good on a MAC. Unable to contact support, require the expiry date on my credit card to be updated. However, their system does not allow you to update credit card details. About 15 or so emails to support, problem not rectified and being ignored. Unable to contact by telephone so basically no support. Looks like need an alternative product

The most reliable anti-virus which actually works – At the time of cyber security challenges, we had to do a thorough checks on who is actually the best and it is Kaspersky. It also covers cloud. After it scanned our devices, it found malware which previous anti-virus didn't notice and the comp started to work faster, our outlook emails are not "spam" any more and the battery lasts longer.

Kapersky not compatible with zoom or some printers – Downloaded Kapersky and then it would continually block the webcam for zoom meetings and block the printer so one couldn't scan. Even after doing all the recommended settings from Kapersky. It is obviously an issue. They will only give you a refund up to 30 days, so make sure you trial this within this timeframe.

This company has ties with [Content Removed] – 2 other issues I had with Karsperky was that it stopped working about 2 weeks prior to the date it should have stopped working. And also too, it was and/or is owned by a [Content Removed] person who apparently had links to the KGB from what I have read.

Kapersky does not pick up on hackers in real time – I got a computer technician to load on Kapersky total package for me for a year. Interfered with reliable website sources – I am studying at a University and started having trouble accessing online library sources. Uninstalled Kaspersky, rebooted and then went straight in to the document I needed. Good example of why automatic subs are bad. Now I need to make sure they don't automatically renew subscription.

Bad business practices - they make it difficult to cancel auto-renewals – I purchased Kaspersky Internet Security for 3 devices 3 years ago. I had removed the software after 6 months of use as it was far too aggressive with its protection and caused a number of instability issues with the software I ran on my computer. Recently I received an email stating it was up for auto-renewal so I logged into my Kaspersky account… Read more

to cancel the auto-renewal. The help page explicitly states that if I had purchased the software through Kaspersky I could easily cancel my renewal by pressing the cancel subscription button. There was no such button appearing on my account page for the product and no way to cancel easily.

The help page directed me to the Digital River Ireland payment service (I am in Australia) as my billing indicated this is the payment processor. The log in details would not work on Digital River either even though this was explicitly mentioned on the original purchase email.

After another hour of pointless password resets and trying to cancel the sub online via Digital River I submitted a ticket to Kaspersky and then spoke to a chat agent online who had to manually cancel the sub. A confirmation email of the cancellation was then sent to my email address. I am hoping this did actually cancel my service. If not then I will be speaking to my credit card company to reverse the payment and I will also lodge a complaint with Fair Trading.

My advice to anyone considering purchasing any online product from Kaspersky is to avoid them at all costs. An online company that makes it difficult to cancel an online service is not worth the trouble.

Paid for a license and 6 months later Kaspersky say it is counterfeit – I have used them for years but the latest customer service experience has left me very brassed off. They are worse that the scammers they say they protect users from. I bought the license ( 3 devices for 3 yrs) from one of their authorised resellers who I have dealt with in the past and it is bizarre that the licence was fine for the first 2 devices for 6 months.

Antivirus software that will ruin your computer – Antivirus software that will ruin your computer. Don't install it to safe yourself a lot of grief! Kaspersky kept coming up with constant license problems and corrupted database even though Windows and Kaspersky was up to date. The support team which sits in Asia is totally incompetent and doesn't know what they're doing! My computer downloaded almost every second day the full program of Kaspersky again about 130 Mb of data trying to solve the license problem without success. Kaspersky remotely accessed my computer and uninstalled and installed software to which you have no control over! My computer got so bad that even after trying to restart it after almost 15 times gave up and I was starring at a blank screen with a dead computer. My computer had to be revived by an It professional because it would not start anymore after windows blue screen of death. The It professional had even problems to get my computer back to life and then had to re-install win 10 operating system because of the damage Kaspersky total security had caused to my computer and I was told to never install it again because it was a very bad software that caused a lot of problems to other customers too who had similar problems. This is the second time this has happened to my computer and cost me so far hundreds of dollars for the It person's repair cost for which Kaspersky took no responsibility at all but only quickly refunded me the money of a software that is below par so that they wouldn't have to deal with problems of their doing anymore. A software not worthy of installing on a computer because of the incompetence of the people who write this software

Cannot disable auto-renew – This product comes with auto-renew, however it does not let you disable this easily and the instructions given are from 2015 and no longer valid. There is no contact number for the company which are easy to find to even get onto them to disable this 'feature' and the contact us function on the website leads you in endless loops without providing any contact details

Note below before purchasing – I purchased had Kaspersky Total Security for 3 devices for 1 year. It worked well. The allowed VPN data per day is very low so use it wisely. But I have issues with misleading advertising and the company making it hard for consumers to get a good deal. 1. When I bought the 1-year subscription midway through trial period, there was an offer for 6… Read more

months free. But when I purchased, it wasn’t added not the remaining days of trail or the promotional was added to subscription expiration duration. Help-desk couldn't help with this query re missing days and the e-mail address provided by them to follow up bounced back. 2. When you go to renew the subsequent year, do not renew via the app as you won’t get any discounts. When you renew via the web you have to un-select auto renew, else the year after you won’t get any discounts. 3. When you enter the new activation code, any unused days from old code is not carried forward. Hence renew on last day. For a technology company, I hope Kaspersky make the end user experience easy and not try to rip customers off by not providing good deals to existing customer.
