Bought this off Ebay It has been fantastic. They bent over backwards helping me sort out all the wiring, I'm not much of an electrician. The opener has been working great for 3 months now. $600 and pretty easy to set up Show details
Faulty, zero support, junk – This product is junk, to confirm this, not one gate company or tech in our area will even touch them, as soon as you say Kenner gate opener they laugh and say good luck. I’m a builder and just Installed a dual Opener for a friend, followed instructions to the letter, both gates will close, only one will Open. Swapped wiring to opposite side, same… Read more
problem. One side Actuator doesn’t even make a noise when hit button to open. Completely dead. Everything triple checked. Runs free when lock lever released, nobody to call and nowhere to get support. It’s a throw away item. Buyer beware, steer clear of this cheap Imported junk
Solar over charging batteries – My KNL100E-01 Kenner swing gate opener stopped working and on investigation I found that the batteries are being over charged by the solar unit, what can be done to correct this. Also I will never by any product from a company that has not supplied proper contact details ever again.
Extremely disappointed - – Solar gate opener has not worked properly since day one and now does not work at all. Installer came back over 8 times to fix and now will not respond to messages. We have no idea how to fix the gate opener so have wasted money on something that does not work. Show details
Excellent – Bought this off ebay via aus-auc.2010 Just installed it and everything went perfect. Customer Service is excellent and so is the speed of delivery. Very powerful motor and very smooth. Would recommend highly.
Installation experience – Purchased a Kenner KNL 502 articulated gate opener and wired KNL 177 keypad. Be aware that you will need a very good electrician to install and set this up. Instruction manuals require high degree of interpretation to understand what to do and left out key configuration details. 3 and 1/2 days to sort it out, but is functioning now. System seems strong but don't rely on good tech support!
Kenner Solar Power Gate Opener KNL02-SOL – I have just purchased the Kenner Solar Power Gate Opener KNL02-SOL and set it up on my workbench prior to installation. The set up instructions are very clear and easy to understand. I will continue this review after the final installment and set up of all components including connection to 240 volts. I would also be interested in finding out if… Read more
a compatible remote control could be purchased to operate both the gates and Merlan brand garage rollerdoor opener? I know the frequency for both remote controllers needs to be the same but the Kenner Solar Power Gate Opener KNL02-SOL remote doesn't say what other brands they may be compatible with.
poor product support from seller ausauc. Unable to obtain a copy of the manual i have been asking fo – I have purchased a Kenner sliding gate opener and have lost my manual. I have contacted ausauc by phone email and via ebay and they ignore my several contacts and requests over the last 6 Months. Product works well but opens very slowly. I would like to activate auto close and change the default code on the pinpad. Very simple.
this is excellent . poweful and silent – good seller , fast drlivery . i eill buy too many products in future from this seller .
Brought more remotes – Hi Need help with our remote gate KNL 01, we brought more remotes on eBay, and we have tried to set them, they will not work, did we but the wrong ones, the gate only came with three remotes
i LOVE my Gate opener, no more getting wet – Works well have had it for 12 months or so now...love it to bits..i am chasing a manual on set-up if anyone can help??? does need 240V to operate as solar doesnt work all the time only 2- times an hour, but is very well worth the buy..
GREAT! I bought the basic kit WITHOUT solar power – Really pleased and impressed with the quality of the product. I bought the basic single gate closer 500 kg. Used two 12v mower batteries initially wired in series with one another to get it going. It HAS to have good 24 v power or it will not operate. However as it will be operated MANY times a day then the best option is to connect to 240 Volt… Read more · 1
mains.
I can understand and appreciate the misgivings of the solar side and glad I did not go down that path.
Kennet solar gate opener bullshit! – After you buy it and read the manual you find that it's for minimal solar use, i.e. 2 0r so times a day on long sunny days. They tell you to connect it to 240v if you are going to use it more than that. Sold as a solar powered gate opener not a claytons solar powered gate opener!!!!!! Buy one that works with solar power more than 2 or 3 times a day or just buy a 240v one to start with and avoid the headaches.
Poor Quality, 3+ Major Faults Within The 5 Major Parts, Never Functioned Properly – Advertised as a solar gate opener but the manual states clearly that this is for back-up only. The minute you have problems it is again pointed out that it should be connected to mains. Instructions were reasonable to put together but troubleshooting was minimal. Bought through aus-auc on eBay, couldn't find any negative feedback + seller had… Read more
good feedback overall. They were able to provide next to no technical feedback, and the money back guarantee lasted 14 days and was only valid with an intact box.
At best I was able to open one gate fully, the other would open but not close. The actuator on the working side became increasingly stiff (and had been since removal from the box with begs the question - was it even manually checked?) and the button had to be pressed another 1-2 times to get it to open. Eventually the unit was unresponsive with batteries connected directly (even when connected to the ride-on mower battery which was also fully charged).
Processed a full refund through eBay which was great but took over a month from return to resolve.
From looking more closely online this seems to be sold in the US as 'Lockmaster' and has poor feedback there also.
** Not worth the headache - if you get it to work I suspect it wouldn't be for long.
