Kenner Solar Power Gate Opener KNL02-SOL Questions & Answers
Hi have a 3 year old Kenner solar gate opener that has worked just fine. Recently the batteries have been dead (6-8V) of a morning. Initially I replaced the batteries but continued to happen. New batteries will charge from the solar during the day and gate will work by the afternoon but are being drained during the night. I placed a large diode in the positive output from the charge controller to batteries overnight, to see if controller is source of drain, but batteries were drained again by morning. Could there be some part of the gate controller causing issue?
Im having trouble changing the pin on the keypad of my new single gate . It came with the stored pin 1111 and I’ve tried changing it via the instructions that came with the keypad however still reverts to 1111 . Do I need to press the learn button on the control box then follow the keypad procedure? Very ambiguous how it’s written. Thanks in advance ! Sal
How to Operate KNS Sliding Gate Opener Once the keypad KNL172 has been learnt successfully, you can use default code to operate the gate. 1. When the gate stops in some positon and the operator is in standby mode, you can make it to move via the following steps: Step 1. Press and release "PIN" button on the wirelesskeypad and then enter the 6 digits entry code.(f defaut entry code is "888888") Step 2. Press the "OK" button within 1 second after step 1 to move the gate. 2. You can press the "OK" button at anytime to stop the moving gate(Entry code is not needec NOTE: The beeper of the keypad KNL172 will beep at the press of any key. When you enter the entry c each button should be pressed within 1 second. If an error has occurred, the beep will sound fo. 2 seconds before returning to normal operation. Please try again. NOTE: If the Keypad KNL172 is installed outside of the gate to open the gate, and no Keypad is installed inside of the gate, we strongly recommend you set the auto-close function in circuit board in control box. Refer to Installation and Operation Manual page 14. Programming the new entry code For safety reason, you may change the factory default entry code or old entry code to your new code but the keypad must be learnt successfully with control board of sliding gate operator before you try to change the entry code. Make sure the control board of the opener is power on and in standby mode (PWR LED is on and REM LED is off, gate is stop). Step 1. Press and release "PIN" button on the keypad KNL172 and then enter the 6 digits default or old entry code. (factory default entry code is "888888" ) Step 2. Press and release "PIN" button on the keypad KNL172, REM LED of the control board is ON waiting for user to input the new entry code. Step 3. Enter your 6 digits new entry code and press "PIN" button to store it. The entry code has been updat- -ed successfully while REM LED flashes for 2 seconds on control board. NOTE: Every step for pressing button during program must be finished within 1 second to ensure success- -full program. How to change the battery of Keypad CKNL172) Step 1: Remove the black cover with slotted screwdriver then you will find 2 screws. Step 2: Remove the front panel with screwdriver, uncover the battery holder and replace the battery. Step 3: Restore the back cover and front cover with cross screwdriver. Ref to the Figure 1~6.

Hi, I purchased Kenner gate opener and it was laying in garage. Now I assembled it. When I connect power LED blinks -- and 00 and comes off after beep. No reaction on FUNC. or any other button. Is it damaged?
I have double gates with Kenner openers all worked good for the past year, lately they have been getting slower and slower , one gate moves a bit further than the other so they need to open and close at the right time or they jam, BUT now they opening and stay opened as the two red lights stay on and they won't time out the same with the close cycle, I can not get the lights to adjust the time or power they work
I want set the gates to open ONLY and not close when the button is pushed again. Im only wanting to have it close automatically after the delay. (KNL602) Apologies if the is in the instructions but I can’t find it.

No I don’t worry. But I was so disappointed with this product. Had issues from day one and struggled to get help. We have now removed from the gate as it was hit and miss if it ever worked
You can turn off the auto-close function from the board. You can tell me the model of your gate opener, and I can give you detailed help.
Hi we purchased kenner knd800 gate opener. Ive installed it as per instructions .time to program key pads etc .I have 26volts at batteries , no power led and when I press the learn button led wont light up .I have noticed the over charge light and charge light on controller are on. Can't nut this one out .even changed out fuse . No different.thanks.

How do you dismantle and later reassemble the main body of the gate ram? I Believe a wire might have become disconnected so I need to get in to inspect and repair it.

Purchased additional remotes but don’t seem to be able to pair them have followed instructions Have noticed the additional remotes have blue led lights original have red

Hi we have bought a new Kenner solar gate opener . We installed yesterday and can hear the motor working but the ram doesn’t move . We have turned the key to auto movement and can hear the motor but no movement of the ram . Any suggestions

Recently installed a solar kit.. Released actuator to set it all up with key. Have system installed and powered up. Turn the release key off but actuator wont drive. Motor runs but doesnt extend or retract gate. Does the release mechanism turn easily. Mine feels like it has no resistance when activating?
Our solar gate has not worked since being installed, installer does not respond Will be seeking refund via vcat
The batteries can support the opener system working 4-7 days without any charging. If the batteries keep running out every 4-7 days, maybe your charging system have some issue. Please check that. Maybe solar controller or solar panel or sunlight is not enough.

Hi, I have a Kenner automatic gate opener solar powered. It was working but blew a fuse, replaced that but now it will only open. Cannot get it to close. I only have a few instructions, did not get a manual as such. Can any body help me please, had the pleasure of pushing a button to open my gate for very short time, now getting back out to open and close it again.
I hope you get it fixed. Ours worked, stopped, worked, and now doesn’t work at all. No response from installer
Thanks, so do I as they are not a cheap item to be sitting pretty on a gate and still having to manually open it.

HI, I have a KNL01, been working fine for 3 yrs and now it wont close automatically, It will work very spasmodically but normally have to stand there and every time it stops and will automatically open, you need to press the button on the remote twice for it start closing again. You may have to do this 10-12 times for the gate to close, and then sometimes it will open by itself.
You can try to increase the force or change a new control board.
