Leaking blue stuff after careful use and storage. Faulty product – When we got this attachment 9 months ago, it was great. I knew from other reviews it was abit fragile so it was always handwashed after it returned to room temperature and stored in its original foam packaging. Probably used about 10 times with great results, then we found a pool of blue in the freezer. So terribly disappointing. Its less than 12… Read more

months old, I will take it back to Goodguys and see if they can do anything. This model is now discontinued which is no surprise. It is clearly faulty.

Kitchenaid rip off – Clearly kitchenaid have a faulty product, as much to our disappointment, we opened the freezer to discover ice cream maker had cracked in freezer and leaked blue liquid throughout the bottom drawer. Very disappointed.

Rubbish – Absolute piece of rubbish. Lots of complaints online so why do Kitchenaid still sell a faulty product. The blue coolant stuff leaks out! Save your money a get a stand alone ice cream machine.

Expensive landfill – Bowl cracked after first use and leaked the coolpack toxic blue gel into our freezer and onto food. Guess that is why its a 1 year limited warranty. Luckily their customer support offered us a 10% discount on our next $200 doorstop. This brand used to represent quality....

Very disappointing service for faulty bowl – Got my ice cream attachment out of its box where it had been stored for the last year and found it is leaking bright blue liquid. The bowl is 2-3 years old and has been used 6 or 7 times. I emailed KitchenAid Australia and after three attempts to get an email response I rang them, only to be told (a) they were busy over Christmas and (b) I… Read more

should have stored the bowl in the freezer (even though the instructions don’t say that) and if I can’t produce the receipt to show that the bowl is less than 2 years old, it’s basically my bad luck. Used to be a good quality brand, but that’s unacceptable both in terms of attachment performance and after sales service. I won’t be buying from this brand again.

Leaking blue liquid – I have had this thing for about two weeks and made ice cream twice and it’s already leaking that inside blue liquid. I thought this was a product supposed to stand the test of time.

A waste of $200 and no customer service - none whatsoever – So this will sound funny but the only reason I bought the kitchenaid stand mixer was for the ice cream maker. This would be fantastic when if it worked - which it doesn't. The weight of the stand mixer is supposed to keep the ice cream paddle attachment in place. It doesn't. It clunks and comes out of alignment constantly. You have to actually… Read more

stand there whilst it churns putting as much weight onto the top of the stand mixer as you can manage to keep the attachment in place. It is next to useless otherwise. I am very disappointed. I contacted kitchenaid twice and sent videos but got no reply so customer service is non existent. I don't know how this ever got past the testing stage to be released for sale. I am hoping that a new model that actually works will be released soon and that kitchen aid will do the right thing and replace this useless but expensive attachment as they should.

Update: After I posted this review Kitchenaid contacted me twice and asked me to send an email to two different email addresses which I did. Their response to these requested emails - nothing! No word from them whatsoever. No follow up. No customer service. I will never purchase anything kitchenaid again. I will stop promoting them on my instagram.

Amazing – So i know friends that have had ice cream makers but generally there results are not the best. I finally got my kitchen aid bowl and everyone is jealous because of it. It makes my ice cream super smooth and creamy. No ive crystals ever. I generally though leave the bowl in the freezer for at least 24 hours. If i remember i leave in for 48 hours and never had a problem.

Very impressed – Now you must understand that you can’t just decided that you want ice cream RIGHT NOW. There is some prep involved. Bowl needing to be frozen for upto 15 Hours. The ice cream base (custard) if you make from scratch would need to be cooked and cooled. Once that’s done you can make ice cream but it’s really just a soft serve cause then you will… Read more ·  1

need to freeze it to make it harden up. SO was it worth it. HELL YES! It was amazing watching the liquid turn into soft creamy ice cream, and it taste delicious. I bought a book to help become creativite with my flavours. Now you can shorten the time by buying an ice cream starter which I kno Williams-Sonoma sell so that might make it less labour intensive. All up I’m very please and reminder in summer.. just keep the empty ice cream bowl in the freezer ready to make a fresh batch.

Expensive broken product leaks poison – I went to use my icecream maker for the first time, following the instructions for 15 hours freezing time before use. When I got it out of the freezer I noticed a puddle of blue fluid (it’s also dripped onto food in my freezer). Upon inspection I’ve found it leaking from bracket on the side of the bowl. The fluid is antifreeze. I cannot safely use… Read more

something leaking chemicals like this. Again: I have never used the icecream maker, and it’s been stored in a cupboard away from extreme temperatures.

The best Icream maker I have used – I have owned two other icecream makers but this one is the best I have used. The main reason is the bowl remains frozen until after the icecream has churned. The icecream is creamy and smooth and freezes well, not creating unwanted icicles. Since it attached to the Kitchen Aid mixer, storage is minimal. It attaches to the mixer very simply and is… Read more

very easy to use. If you have a Kitchen Aid mixer you know how strong and reliable they are and this attachment is a natural extension in the way they work together. Highly recommended
