Call me crazy, but you should be able to pour a kettle without it spilling boiling water everywhere – You literally cannot pour this kettle without boiling water going everywhere. It's impossible. Whenever I fill my teapot I need to put it in the sink so that I don't have to clean up the water that goes everywhere from using this kettle, not to mention so the I don't burn myself with the boiling water. What great function of design. Show details

Love this kettle – Stylish, works well. Heats up quickly. Handle can warm up, but with a tea towel handy it’s not an issue. Would buy again when necessary. Have several kitchen Aid products

Handle is a BURN waiting to happen – I to bought this same kitchen aid kettle in stainless steal for looks, and brand name being reliable. but this is the worst kettle I have ever had as well, unless you use a pot holder or tea towel to pick it up of off the stove you take the risk of burning your hand. Worst handle design ever!!! very dangerous god help any elderly person who goes… Read more

to get this of the stove they run the risk of dropping kettle because of excessive handle heat. Very expensive considering you need to use something to pick it up

Cannot justify cost for quality – We're off grid, so we rely on our kettles. In short, we always must use a potholder or tea towel to pick up this kettle. There is not enough insulation to protect your hand. Ever. So unsafe. And you cannot pop the spout lid open upon a boil without discomfort or risk of a steam burn. And I have never had a kettle with such a piercing whistle.… Read more

It's abominable. I feel terribly if I'm outside and it goes off with the dogs or cat in the house. It's probably torture for them because it makes me nuts. The only good thing I can say about this kettle is it doesn't spit water after a boil. I expected more from a Kitchenaid.

classic and stylish – this stovetop kettle is perfect for my kitchen. I got the black one and it looks amazing. It heats up easily and whistle when the water is boiling. It can be essily cleaned as well. It was just always sitting on the stovetop but it pleases my eyes because of the design do there is no need to keep it somewhere.  Show details

This is the worst kettle I have had in my life and I am 60 years old – someone designed useless kettle and fooled others to buy it. for a start the handle gets hot because there is not enough thermal ( plastic) insulation then it is impossible to pour water without spilling it Just imagine the situation you are about to make nice cup of tea so you put kettle on the stove Yes it whistles so boiling water is… Read more

ready. you grab kettle by the handle and it is burning your hand so you drop it back on the stove. Your put your hand under cold water and after a while try again this time using thermal glove.

So this time you can lift the kettle to pour very hot water into the cup but while you pouring it some of the water dribble into your shoes and you burnt your feet this time And you are on the way to hospital for emergency treatment.

Well it real piece of engineering and top notch design.

DO NOT buy it

A kettle that looks good yet dribbles out the spout – Bought a beautiful red stove top kettle from kitchen aid to replace a cheaper brand. It's actually worse than the cheaper brand as it dribbles out when you pour so water will end up not only in the cup, but on your kitchen bench. I sent videos of this to kitchen aid, (who for some reason are slow to respond) and I'm obviously sending the kettle… Read more

back for a refund, but am out of pocket for the original postage of the kettle. I am pretty dissappointed as I've been a fan of theirs for years and have the artisan mixer and food processor. I expected prompt responses to my emails and I'm not happy that they didn't refund the original postage. That's the last time any kitchen aid product graces my kitchen.

Have since bought an Alessi kettle. Yes was $120 more, but it's worth it.
