150 people not receiving their products and making reports to FB, CAV and other reporting bodies), that the owners wife ([Name Removed]) would be contacting everyone with an order by the End of Week. I never received correspondence from them, so i reached out (i thought possibly i had been forgotten). A lot of missed phone calls and no return phone calls (me calling them), facebook messages full of excuses. I finally discussed a design with [Name Removed] and she would send it "by the weekend", nothing came. After 9 months of following up, i asked for a Refund. I was told bluntly "NO, we have already ordered and have your materials ready for manufacturing". I asked how when i hadn't received a design to approve. I was sent a draft which had the complete wrong number (18 instead of 16) and my design was not what i asked for. Around November 2025, i emailed asking whether i would receive it before Christmas and i got a "definitely" message back. Each time i sent a polite message enquiring i was told conflicting stories "powdercoater has it, its ready for shipping, it still has a few hours left on it etc". I even received a message from them stating it was "ready to be shipped", however couldnt supply photos or shipping consignment numbers. I again asked for a full refund to a blunt NO! [Name Removed] (owner and [Name Removed]'s husband) would occasionally reply to me being aggressive and telling me to "be kind and patient, dont be rude or disrespectful". I never once was rude or disrespectful. Many times they tried sob stories or flipping the narrative. Throughout all this, i found a facebook page dedicated to customers that are "frustrated" with Knox Fabrications/Elite Metals, however its full of people like me that have been scammed and not received there money or product. Some are waiting since 2023!! Through the group, i found out that the owner/sole trader [Name Removed], was bankrupt when he accepted my money in which he never disclosed this information to me. I whole heartedly DO NOT recommend this company or any associated company they run (Esskay & Co). to February 2026, I was continually told the order was almost finished, being pushed ahead, or only hours away from completion. I was repeatedly assured items would be shipped “today”, “tomorrow”, or “next week”, and on multiple occasions I was guaranteed dispatch — none of which happened. Calls were promised and never made, updates were offered and never followed through, and long periods passed with no response at all despite multiple messages.
When a letterbox finally arrived in December, it was incorrectly designed, poor quality, and unacceptable. It rusted within two days, had visibly bad welds, and a very poor paint finish. I was also told a gift card was included — this was not true. Additionally, the ANZAC piece that I was repeatedly told was holding up the order was never sent.
Since then, I have continued to receive conflicting and misleading updates about remakes, coating, shipping, and freight. Most recently, I was told the replacement has been “stuffed up twice”, which is the same explanation used for the original order.
I was told 1000% a fire pit was sent due to the stuff around. Yep you guessed it. Never received it.
At this point, my disappointment is not just about delays — it is about the lack of honesty, lack of communication, and the poor quality of the product delivered. I have been patient, reasonable, and understanding, but this situation has gone far beyond what is acceptable.
Don’t waste your hard earned money and valuable time.

being out in the weather. They apologised and said they'd make me a new one which I agreed to. All I have received since August is a bunch of excuses, and been told i am rude and hostile. I asked for photos and was told why would we send photos when you know what it looks like. The design was supposed to be changed to something with smaller cut outs to avoid another possible issue with rusting. Not once have they contacted me in regards to any update with my replacement. It has always been me msgung them asking for an update. September I was told it was being coated. In November I was told they changed to a different company for coating. Early Decemeber I was told they had requested a "special" zinc coating. I had my front yard landscaped and was told I'd have the new mailbox by the end of my landscaping date. I still have not received it. I was told I would have it before Christmas and that isn't going to happen. The last few days when I've asked about shipping, their reply is "hopefully" they aren't hopeful and neither am I. If you comment on any of their posts, they delete the comment and send you a message asking not to comment negative things because it will affect "their little family business and make them look bad. They take on way too many orders to be able to fulfil them in a timely manner. They are constantly promoting discounts to get more sales. I am happy to share any information with anyone. Look around, there are other businesses that make personalised mailboxes.
Ok, time to add an update. After being contacted on 26th December saying " We have great news Sian, your mailbox is officially complete" I have still not received any proof that this is correct. I was told it would be shipped and that hasn't happened as of 6th Jan.
Another update**** As of 14th Jan, I still have not received any mailbox or even proof that it has been made. All I have received is gaslighting messages and more excuses that it got a scratch and needs to be coated again. I have asked for a refund which they told me i would get as well as the replacement mailbox and this has not happened either. I was told they'd send photos on Monday 12th and that was another lie. I have contacted consumer affairs VIC. Updated photos of further rusting of my mailbox. Update*** As of 8th Feb 2026 I still haven't received my mailbox, no photo proof that it has been made or the refund i was told I'd receive weeks ago. They deflect answering my questions by replying with their problems. I have been chasing this replacement now for almost 7 months. I was advised that it had to be remade again (this is now the 5th or 6th time it has apparently been remade) because they've made mistakes on it or its been damaged/scratched. Again, another update 20th Feb 2026. Still no proof that my mailbox replacement has been made, 7 months after I was told it woukd be replaced. I was also told they would refund me and this also has not happened. I am at the point now that I dont want the mailbox replacement because I dont even want to look at it to be reminded of the horrible service this company has put me through mentally and emotionally. They are literally out to make people's hard earned money and not provide what they have paid fir. They are all for promoting new products and their side hustle business rather than giving people what they have already paid for. I wouldn't even day their products are worth the wait for because my original mailbox looks awful after just 6 months in the QLD weather. I was told 2 weeks ago that it would be ready to be shipped and this has not happened. 5hey are now ignoring my messages. DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS SO CALLED BUSINESS OR ANY OF THEIR SIDE HUSTLES.
We got a mailbox from this company. It is a nice mailbox, looks good at our place. Yes, you may have to wait, but it’s not a scam and you will get your products. Got our fire pit yesterday and it looks good and sturdy (I was hoping for kookaburras but that’s ok haha). Can’t wait to use it next winter. We also got some garden ornaments that look good in our front yard.

September (6 months after) they gave me multiple excuses going on for about a month. I was getting a bit impatient with it, so I asked again. They kept saying the same thing, over and over again. Around 8-9 months after ordering and placing the full payment, the mailbox hasn’t been delivered yet. I gave full payment in March, and went through excuses and to this day, my mailbox has not arrived yet. I was patient with this order all along, tried understanding their reasons, but nowadays I’m not even getting any updates on my order. If you don’t follow up with them, they don’t even think about updating you on your order. I always have to ask for a follow up because they won’t do it without me having to ask them for one. They don’t send photos or give any proof that they’re ACTUALLY doing my order, as they have said many times. Knox Fabrication co says that they’re doing my order, finishing it up, dispatched soon, and even saying it will be sent out by the end of the week. But it’s still not here yet. What leads to me writing a review on here is the company not even texting or messaging me anymore, and not giving me any updates at all. I’m not changing the amount of stars on this review until my mailbox comes. I’m not going to explain myself anymore, I’m just attaching the conversations that led to nothing.

Rather than being provided with clear timelines and accountability, we have consistently been given personal explanations — including references to a co-owner’s pregnancy and illness. While we understand that life circumstances arise, these explanations have been repeated without resolution. We were also made to feel guilty for requesting updates and were told that we “do not care” about the owner’s pregnancy or illness simply because we are asking about a fully paid order that has been outstanding for seven months.
Throughout this entire process, we have remained patient despite the growing stress caused by the delays. Asking for honest communication and delivery of a paid product should not be framed as a lack of empathy.
When I recently requested an update, I was told that the product was “done.” However, no confirmation, photos, collection details, or delivery arrangements were provided. As it stands, I am still unclear about the true status of our order and when, or if, we will actually receive it.
What is particularly concerning is that we were informed the business completes approximately 25–30 orders per week. Given that information, it is difficult to understand why our fully paid order has remained outstanding for over seven months.
Due to these delays, we have incurred a $600 penalty. Because of the ongoing inconsistencies and shifting explanations, we have kept screenshots and records of all communication. After seven months of waiting, being told that “patience is a virtue” and that I was “annoying” the business by requesting updates — particularly when messages had gone unanswered — was extremely disappointing.
When I advised that I would be leaving honest feedback based on our experience, I was told that doing so would amount to “slandering” the business and that our order would not be canceled. This response was concerning and unprofessional.
At this stage, I am requesting immediate clarification on the status of our order and a firm delivery date. Failing this, I will be proceeding with reporting the matter to the relevant authorities.
We genuinely wanted to support a small business. Unfortunately, this experience has been marked by broken promises, poor communication, and conduct that we found deeply disappointing.
Please read reviews carefully before placing an order with this business. Based on our experience, we would not recommend them.

All I said in my message was “if it couldn’t be completed by the 31st of January I would need to request a refund as my deadline to have my landscaping completed is the 31st of January or action will be taken against me”. I have never been rude, maybe a little impatient but as one can expect when you pay so much money for a product and you’re being left unanswered, I felt compelled to follow up until I received a response. After reading all these negative reviews, all of which are saying the same thing, promised it will be finished in a certain amount of days to then not receiving a response I highly doubt I will receive it by the deadline of the 31st January 2026. This is really sad as this business has huge potential but the communication side of things is where it’s a huge let down. Just be open and honest with your customers, they will be more understanding then you think. It’s the constant excuses that are upsetting people, not the long wait times! If my order is in fact received by the 31st January 2026 I will absolutely change my review to hopefully a more positive one.

We ordered products from this company, they have lied about delivery dates and completion status for over 7 months. They took our money in full with minimal product updates for a job that they stated would only take 2 weeks to complete. Each time a refund was offered they never followed through. The last contact I have on the 27th Feb was my order was Being sent as well as a full refund but still nothing! I have logged dispute with fair trading and next is VCAT! Really disappointing that a business is operating this way! Taken payment and not providing the product ! There’s many customers in the same situation as me! I placed an order back at the end of November 25 and paid a deposit. After having hearing nothing from them, I messaged them in early February asking about my letterbox and was told that somebody would get back to me the next day. This never happened so I emailed again in early March asking for a refund and again never heard anything. Do not waste your money with this company. You are unlikely to receive your product or get a refund.
