and getting away from your parents. Unfortunately this is no longer the case in the modern world (sorry you're not up to date) and so now kids have to socialise online. Koalasafe provides a platform in which parents can not only see what their kids are doing they can also control what they can do and for how long. You need to put yourself into this situation. It's like your parents listened in on every conversation you ever had, every activity you ever did and also took your bike at a certain time every day, whether you were using it or doing something productive with plans to use it later, and did not give it back until the next day. I have literally had so many incidences where i have had my conversations about life CUT just like that. You may think that oh we can just add more time, but do you really think that you will give your child more time after "they spent all afternoon wasting their life" and do you think that your child will tell you that they want to continue their conversation with the kid they like?? When you were a kid you had the choice to stay out late and be a rebellious teen even if there was consequences. With koala safe you aren't giving this choice to your kids and so they never learn how to be responsible but instead get mad that their parents think they know best (even if you do, it provides no learning experience for your children and is just the lamest thing ever). In fact, i genuinely believe that (after two years) i use my devices more and don't get off until I'm forced because I know that i won't have the opportunity to use it later. Koalasafe backfires and makes your kids more addicted, more angry and stops them from ever choosing to do productive things in their spare time because it will replace their fun. P.S it also makes the internet slower, blocks the dumbest websites and is just a real pain. Please, please, please make sure you don't get this product UNLESS of course you want to have kids who don't like you. For that the product truely pulls through.

Lets your kids watch porn – I have been using it for a year. It is only good for setting time limits. Doesn't show usage, doesn't block porn, videos except youtube. It doesnt bring its promise. I am frustrated.

Never buy this. This doesn’t work ! – Please stay away from this crap. This never works. Non of the functions working at all eg, scheduling, additing devices or any functions for that matter, simply this is a failed product. Please dont waste your money. On top of all the functionality issues, this makes your entire internet slower.

Doesn't work as advertised and terrible customer service – I ordered this from their web site. It was advertised as having speeds up to 150 mbps. I get the thing set up and run a speed test, and am getting 3 mpbs. I realize that you won't get the max speed but you shouldn't advertise 150 if you're really getting only a sliver of that. return (their web site says you get a refund if you return within 30 days). Since they weren't responding, I followed the instructions on the "View your Order" link on the email confirmation they sent me when I bought the product. You can view those instructions at https://store.koalasafe.com/10584108/policies/8021188.html, and you'll see they instruct you to send the product to an address in Australia.

I finally sent an email to the customer support team saying that since I didn't hear back, I followed the instructions on their web site and sent it to this Australia address, and now they are telling me that this is the wrong address and that I should have sent to somewhere in CA. So now I'm in a dispute with them over the charge, and am out $23 for the shipping.

Terrible experience.

Did not work from the time I got it – Received the Koala today. Set it up as per instructions. Hopped on my son's tablet and tried to access porn. No problems getting access to any porn site. KOALA is useless. Don't buy it! Maybe they should change the name of the unit to Koala Porn Safe.

The worst – Never buy this crappy item it is the worst. It cliches like crazy and crashes your system. Don't spend your money on this is the worst buy it and then you will need to buy a new motom.

Very happy with the Koalasafe Dome. It has done what we bought it for and made things easier – We purchased this product in order to make life a little easier with kids. the same time ensure the stuff they don't is inaccessible. When homework is done, we can allow full access to the internet again. We can also tailor the access to each child (as they're different ages) and each individual device if required.

The other benefit is that it is very easy to provide access to internet outside the regular hours if we wish. We simply log in and extend the time as required. This was a chore on the previous device.

The only additional feature I'd like to see is the ability to control the time extensions more. At the moment you can only pick from one of the set extension periods; 10 min, 30 min etc. It would be nice to be able to add a one-off extension from 2pm to 6pm, or to say I'd like 45 mins of access, or even that I'd like the internet access to run from now until 9pm.

Additionally, the user instructions weren't very good as they seemed to relate to the old Koalasafe unit (we bought the Dome before it was released so it was brand new). I'm fairly handy with I.T. stuff so I worked it out, but I reckon you'd struggle if you had no idea about computing hardware/software.

Support lacking – Worked well for a few months, but then it started needing to be rebooted every time access was required. Support keeps asking is it resolved, but does not come up with solutions. Been going on for months. Would not recommend as support cannot work out or come up with a solution

installed Koalasafe. This product addresses everything I was looking for: the internet shuts down at a time that everybody knows. Different days have different schedules in our family, so we don't shut it down at the same time every day. Some days they go to school later, so it's on before school on those days, but not others. There is a simple app that controls it all and adds the flexibility needed. For example, this past Monday was a holiday, so school was cancelled. Two clicks on the app and the internet was unblocked, for this day. As an added bonus, we block sites that are not appropriate for the kids, but it doesn't affect us adults. For instance Facebook and Instagram. The kids don't needs to play around with those types of sites, but us adults don't want to be blocked. So there is a lot less worrying about the kids stumbling onto some nasty stuff or clicking on the wrong link. It's definitely been my best purchase of the year! I highly recommend.
