Kogan Series 8 KU8000

Really really really poor quality picture on my tv. To say disappointed would be too mild. Will never buy or recommend Kogan ever again..I never thought such a high end product would be so bad
Average. Get what you pay for – The TV doesn't have all the Apps you may want and no ability to download extra Apps. TV consistently drops out of wireless, despite wireless being good speed and in the next room. TV sometimes refuses to turn off. TV sometimes takes a long time to turn on. TV also randomly turns on in the middle of the night even though the remote is on a bedside table and not being touched.

Don't bother with high end TVs – Bought this TV in 2016 for $300, was a bit worried about the quality as I was more into Samsung and LG, however it is still running great in 2019. The picture is really good, no complaints. Sounds OK but not great, would add a soundbar if audio is a concern of yours. Remote is responsive and fast- not like a lot of clunky lower price TVS you find. Show details
Kogan 55" 4K LED TV (Series 8 KU8000) – After a year still good, I don't watch TV so much but I am happy with that. Good quality of screen. weak points: sound quality is crap, I had to buy a sound bar. it doesn't have Fiber Optic input. turning on delay is a bit much. for the price I paid, this is the best one. Great picture – Needs more hdmi ports has many great features verses price would be great value for money the smart tv function Is a little slow the tv wireless functionality is great range on wifi picture quality isn't as good as a 4k but for the price is one of th best in the market Show details

Don’t Waste Your Time – Had a horrible experience with this TV. Broke within a month and I initiated the warranty claim. 3 months later and I still have no TV. Customer service takes forever, doesn’t follow through with promises of sending replacements etc. I’ve had to chase this up with NSW fair trading. Spend the extra money and buy from a reputable company.
Ok for the price – I bought this thinking it was a smart tv, it was next to the smart tv option, but its not. So be careful when clicking buy. The TV is not bad for the price, 55", good display, easy to setup and wall mountable. playing from USB or external drive works well. Has a number of compatible formats, so no issues. Some not so good The TV takes a while to… Read more
start up. Not as slim as it is shown on the pictures, there is a little meat to it. Remote connectivity is not great, you have to move it around a bit or find the right angle for it to work.(this is while im right in front of it)
I would buy kogan again, it is becoming a dependable and affordable brand. Although the TV, not so sure. I may invest in Soniq which is similar price range and quality. Only thing was they use TOLL to deliver, this was the worst experience. TOLL have to be the worst in the business (maybe my experience only)
No more for me – My first Kogan TV lasted two years before it quit on me. This one lasted exactly 20 days longer than the one year warranty. There was a big flash which blew the slo blow fuse on the main board and that was the end of picture and sound. It might have been OK if communication was possible and, if it is possible, it's far too complicated for me. … Read more
From now on I will go to a real store and buy a more expensive known brand. It will save me lots of money in the long run.

Tv is Great once you get display settings right! – Bought this tv 2nd hand runs great! however the colour of the tv was a tinge of the grey side of things. So I clicked the p- mode to change it to see if anything changes, still got that tinge of grey. So I ran Xbox tv calibrate switch my tv in personal mode and created a new display settings and added colour to 77 and it is incredible! Love this tv! Here is my preference if you have this tv contrast: 80 brightness:45 sharpness: 40 colour:77
Terrible tv – After 1 month of owning my kogan the picture has completely gone black' tried getting a warranty job but never received a reply for my claim' went out and brought a hisense and never looked back. You pay for what you get so don't expect a perfect tv at all. Show details
No good – I purchased this Tv thinking it was goi to be as good as the other products I have purchased from Kogan but was very much disappointed the picture was poor sound was poor. I should have stuck with what I normally do and see it before I buy it. Total waste of 449 dollars DISAPPOINTED Show details

All right TV, no bells or whistles though – It's a cheap TV and we got what we paid for, it doesn't run the smart features very well and it takes a while to load up (30 seconds). We found the sound improved a bit once we changed it to analog, its works fine still if your using a chromecast system. Its pretty average for sound and picture, maybe spend another $300 if you want something better. Show details
Good and valued Tv – I bought this TV in 2017 when I just moved into my new apartment. It only costs me $500 around half to 1/3 price of those big brand. I would say it absolutely worth on its price. Simple design and good picture. The only problem is that as a smart TV, the system reacts really slowly, while it is still acceptable. Show details
the quality + size is outstanding – this tv is something else, i cannot begin to describe how amazed i am with how everything goes, the hdmi ports are very easy to access and the remote works perfectly. the screen size works very well and the response time is outstanding. there's one downside though, the tv is very thick. other than that i would advise others to buy this tv Show details
Perfect and good picture – I actually purchased this online a year ago and it has the best quality ever. Picture is awesome. They are affordable, reliable and worth the money. A friend of mine has a kogan tv and will never pay a lot for a normal one again. Good work kogan. Love it thanks Show details
Pretty good for the money – Well although tv reviews have been on and on here goes another one. Have had my Koogan 55" 4k tv for about 9 months apart from a problem with the remote at first this is a very good value for money TV. When received the tv the remote was dodgy i.e. didn't work. Koogan have since replaced the remote and now I could not be happier with the unit.… Read more
My only regret is not paying the bit extra to get a smart tv. I have delayed writing a review until I got around to getting the remote replaced. I got this TV for under $$500 delivered to my door. If it lasts for 5 years I will be very happy, the picture quality is brilliant, sound very good play back etc all work as required in short an inexpensive tv offering great value even when paying for delivery. The down side for me is there are no optical ports next TV I buy must have an optical port.
Very ordinary contrast and colour – This might be 4K but it has super average contrast and colour reproduction. The set looks really nice physically but I was so disappointed with mine, I returned it. Also please be aware that the audio is not great with these so if you do buy one you will probably need a soundbar too. Look elsewhere! Show details
Great considering the price point – Picture.quality v.good after using thx calibration tools and turning off most digital enhancers except dynamic colour. 4k enhancement mode activated 4k60hz for movies when using Panasonic uhdplayer which also incorporates 4k Netflix. Needed to spend time getting tvsettings, uhd player output and amp settings aligned. Very pleasantly suprised once achieved. Show details
The Best Bang-For-Your-Buck 4K TV – This TV was immensely surprising. I didn't know much about it before purchasing as there was limited information online, and honestly considering the brand and price was expecting a fairly mediocre product. But I am positively surprised of the panel on this TV. The panel is produced by Samasung and seems to rival some of their entry level 4K… Read more
televisions. For playing games, the input latency is one of the lowest I've ever experienced on a TV. Its honestly more comparable to a monitor in terms of response time. The picture isn't mind blowing like an OLED or more expensive LED TVs but for the price, its actually fairly impressive. 4K content looks noticeably sharper on this panel compared to my previous 1080p 40". If you're looking for a budget 4K TV for use with 4K consoles and netflix, this is a fantastic set. Works fantastically with my PS4 Pro playing Horizon: Zero Dawn at a checkboarded 4K and also looks great with my PC.
My only small gripes with this TV is the back cover of the remote is extremely flimsy and always comes off (I had to tape mine on) and the speakers aren't the best (I picked up a Sony soundbar + subwoofer so doesn't bother me). If you're hestitant to buy a Kogan TV I'd say give it a shot, you may be pleasantly surprised. Would definitely buy this again at $499 shipped and have recommended to friends and family who have also bought this same TV.
Great TV – I love this TV! I bought one year ago and it is awesome to watch movies and sports. the buit-in speakers are just perfect and I don’t need to use any more accessories with the TV. beautiful design, my friends always say that they like my new TV! Show details
Very nice tv – I had a Aldi tv before this one and I have to say the Kogan tv is a big improvement of sound and pictures the sound is great can’t go wrong and the picture when using 4K is a amazing I’m very happy with this tv can’t go wrong buying one. Show details
Love it – I picked this up from kogan about 9 months ago. It came at a great price and the picture quality was fantastic. The sound is crisp and clear. As per usual kogan delivered on time with a great product. Thank you again Kogan. I'm never displeased with you guys. Show details
Ok, but nothing special - value for money but quality suffers – We bought a cheap TV to get us through as the old Panasonic had died. This was a bargain $500 so we got one. The TV is ok, we only watch free air to air. The colours are no where near the old plasma and appear a bit washed out and picture is a bit grainy. Standard SD tv is terrible but it improves with HD, just wished they stopped the marketing… Read more
nonsense on 4K. There is no content to watch and due to the 4k interpolating the picture quality suffers. so be warned. Speaker volume could also be a bit better. OS is good enough, we are yet to explore its full potential.
It flickers when first turned on – Picture quality when first turned on flickers. It takes 5 to 10 minutes for it to stop picture quality is great after that. Speakers could be louder as tv constantly on 3/4 volume. The Kogan tv does not have enough HDMI ports which was a little disappointing and the smart tv works fine with the apps and the operating system. Over all I would say u get what u paid for Show details
Value for money – Tuning didn't produce all channels first time round but a couple of goes and it was set up. A bit worried at first as there was a stage when i had sound and no picture and whilst this has rectified it does concern me a little as to whether it will do it again. Delivery was a major problem; I live on a farm and they wouldn't deliver to a PO. … Read more
This wasn't indicated when i placed the order so some delay in getting it and needed to use the physical address of the post office in order for it to be delivered. Overall picture quality is good enough and controls are easy to use and similar to others. I am yet to plug things in (something i have not done before) but it has all the outlets and so expecting these to work. For $469 delivered for a 50 inch screen (not a smart TV) and only purchased so that i didn't have to wear my glasses it does the job.
Quite Good – Value for money. Did not want a smart TV and this won fits the bill. Took a while to sort out a colour on it that suited because how it came setup, the colours were a tad on the cool side and not a natural colour. Once that was done it was nice, good sound quality. TV arrived at our local delivery depot and sat there for a week before it was… Read more
delivered but quick to leave Kogan warehouse. Driver said he was told he could not deliver it as soon as it hit their warehouse. Something Kogan need to sort out. Manual you have to download yourself and it is very basic. After sales support not good as they have no phone number, an online chat line that you cannot get through on and can only send emails which are not returned very quickly. So other than the after sales support I would recommend the TV as it is good value for a basic TV with no bells and whistle.
HDCP errors! Chromecast & Apple TV wont work! – Though it would be a good deal but TV is basically useless. It came with a Chromcast. We plugged in our 4k AppleTv also but Netflix, Stan, NineNow and basically any other VOD apps wont work because the TV is not HDCP compliant. Tried many different 4K rated cables but nothing resolves the issue. Even running the tv down at 1080 or less doesn't… Read more
solve the problem. Be great if Kogan could supply a firmware update to solve it. Also the picture quality is terrible. Colours are washed. Kogan don't seem to acknowledge or understand the HDCP issue. Watch this space.
Love this TV! – Absolutely love this TV. Great price for a terrific picture quality. Very easy to use. Great sound quality couldn't fault it. Would definitely purchase from Logan again and best part is they offer Zippay so you can pay it off interest free forever. Arrived very well boxed. Simply cannot fault it. Show details

Memory:
No onboard memory so you have to go through your preferred settings each time you power on.
All in all very happy with the TV if you are not looking for a smart TV.
Already recommended this TV for my friend.
Solid Budget TV – The picture quality is satisfactory, however the colours look a bit washed out on my unit. The build quality isn't flimsy at all and should be quite durable. The speakers sucks and add a sound bar is a must. The number of ports is plenty for me. The smart TV feature could be done better and you would be better off getting a separate TV box or stick. Excellent Value for money that does everything that a expensive TV does – The picture quality is amazing with its very clear, i have seen clearer picture quality but for the price your paying its an absolute bargain. The inbuilt speakers aren't the best and aren't very basey but they do the job. The Unit has 2 ports for HDMI and i believe that's more than enough for the xbox and chromecast. Overall its a great buy for the price Show details · 1
Absolutely disgraceful – Plugged in TV and cannot get any channels. Husband is tec savvy & has tried everything. You cannot contact Kogan by phone concerning TVs (if people were not aware !) & have been emailing to try to resolve the problem. They will refund if we pay ANOTHER $87 postage to return a faulty tv. We have already paid postage. Just not good enough Kogan. You have lost our business & also anyone else we can tell about your service !!! Show details

Kogan has the worst service I have ever encountered – Only gave 1 star because you cannot give less. DO NOT BOTHER BUYING FROM KOGAN. Purchased a 55" TV and on arrival found a part was missing. Placed an enquiry (#6245026) with them and it took 9 working days to get an initial reply. Then another 4 working days till the next contact and in which they promising to get back to me within 1 day with a… Read more
solution, that was 4 working days ago. So far, that is a total of 17 working days waiting. They are continually apologizing for their extremely poor service but they do nothing about it. If this is the future of online shopping, then Harvey Norman is definitely safe.
ARC doesn’t work, – Picture is fine, sound isn’t good Before purchase I confirmed with Kogan help dept it supports ARC to connect my sound bar however it doesn’t appear to support ARC as it doesn’t work with 2 different sound bars I have. Super TV for the second TV room – This TV Is great considering the cost. Picture quality is good and sound is clear. There are enough ports for what we need. Apps are good however TV does flicker when watching clips through the Youtube app. Load up is a bit slow but not a problem as long as you know. Show details · 1
