Unreliable Kogan Products – This TV only lasted 3 yrs…. Just like the previous Kogan TV. Kogan have become worse over time. All of sudden, a month ago, it says I’m no longer in delivery area yet I live in Wollongong. I have sent numerous emails to Kogan and they initially reply saying they will investigate why the good cants be delivered…. And then nothing happens. They… Read more

were a great company 5yrs ago but have grown too fast, and at the end of the day, their customer service is a joke.

I tried to cancel my Kogan First membership; but their system just takes you into circles, and if you manage to speak to anyone, they tell you they can’t do anything and refer you back the to website.

I use to own shares in Kogan. But sold them 2 yrs ago when I started to have problems that they wouldn’t own or even answer

Breach of policy – I tried to use the "change of mind policy " they recieved as i had to check via email on the 22nd. breach of there own policy. 29 emails in exchange as evidence as they dont reply or lst 1 promised the credit will be in your account tonight... still nothing!!

Now iv had to lodge with consumer affairs Victoria which apparantly they have been fined in 2016 for similar treatment.

29 emails of evidence of how they breach and have the tv in return and no money/ credit for me..

Cant wait for consumer affairs to het involved. Might even ring A Current Affair sinve there office is on Melbourne as well.

Customer service poor.

Would not recommend to anyone.

Great for the price but forget the smart features – This is a great TV for the price. The picture is pretty good however some of the colours seem a bit off, a little yellowish compared to my last TV. My biggest problem with it is how slow it is. It is very slow to start up and using the apps is almost unbearable. The sound is also a bit rubbish so I use a soundbar.  Show details

Why pay more? – I purchased one of these for our office. I am very impressed. The picture is just as good, if not better than the Sony Bravia I have at home. The picture flows smoothly, even when watching sport, or fast scenes in action films. It's a lot lighter than My Bravia, although it is a few years younger than my Sony. Has enough HDMI and 1 USB inputs. If my Bravia ever breaks down, I know where I'll be getting my next TV from.  Show details

Took it out of the box, replaced the 5 year old Panasonic, plugged it in, turned it, sat back and wa – TV arrived in two days, I took it out of the box, plugged it in and sat back and watched TV. Simple to set up, good picture and good sound. Has enough ports for me, an average user. I was looking for a good, inexpensive TV and I think I have found it in this one. I took the extended warranty, so I have nothing to lose. All for less than $500.  Show details

Very ordinary, know your rights! – Firstly the sound quality was terrible, we needed to buy a sound bar to achieve the same sound quality as our older LG tv. The tv worked fine for 13mths and then stopped working. we had to contact Kogan 3 times, 1st time were told it was out of warranty, 2nd time if they deemed us to be at fault we would need to pay for the repair. we replied to… Read more

them by saying that under Aust consumer law it was not reasonable that a product that cost that much should not work after 13mths. #rd time Kogan replied with that the previous 2 reps were wrong and we could have it fixed (still not sure here if they'd require us to pay). TV was picked up, returned 5wks later fixed, no cost.

Would I buy a Kogan again, No, I'd only buy a name brand.

Not recommended – Just ok, not good. Picture is worse than my old HD TV, it is really not what you would call 4K quality. The colour density is poor so the picture is washed out, and it’s not very adjustable. Motion also blurrs when it is too fast like Bathurst, so the refresh rate is too low for sports watching. Should have bought the equivalent Hisense 50” for a bit more, which had a genuine 4K experience.  Show details

Had dead pixels. Sound was terrible – The TV arrived with dead pixels so i contacted customer support for an exchange. They said the best thing i could do was fix it myself. This happened every day for a week until they finally came. Then i waited for over 2 weeks and heard nothing so i contacted them. They replied almost immediately to say they found it to be faulty and will process a refund.

Kogans products are a joke and so are their business practices. Against my better judgement, i went for a cheap product and paid the price. Never again.

Doesn't work with ABC iview? – Bought this TV a week ago with reasonable expectations. Picture quality is good for DTV, less so for avis, but I think that might be the file quality rather. The BIG PROBLEM is that the ABC iview app downloads, navigates fine, but then won't play any files. Given the ubiquity of ABC iview, I can't really understand how this can be considered acceptable, and we will most likely return the TV.  Show details

Do not buy this TV!!! – This TV worked fine for several weeks. TV would start to lose the picture and cycle through colours and repeat, after turning off at the power point for a while and back on picture would return. the box unless it in a box. Good luck buying one of these or finding room in your house to keep it.

One month after contacting Kogan for support they gave me a firmware file to upgrade the TV. This did not work but was a positive step. Eventually the TV was picked up from my house.

After initially saying that they had received the TV they later sent another email saying that they had received it (over one month after courier pickup from my house). Kogan will not meet their 14 day advised review time. Two months after the TV was picked up it still has not been reviewed by the kogan support team and my house remains without a TV.

If you want a useable TV do not buy this product. If you want good customer support do not buy from kogan.

Good picture - poor sound – This TV is a good looking sleek unit. The LED panel has great output and picture quality - however the sound is a little "tinny" and sounds very distant. The set up is user friendly, although there is no function to disable to sound from the TV to use another source. We have linked this TV to a soundbar and have a universal remote that I didn't pair to the TV to get around this; this set up is by far the best for picture and sound.  Show details

Value for price – The inexpensive LED TV so far nothing to complain. I hooked it to Telstra TV mainly to watch Netflix and no Blu Ray player yet, so I have no comments on the 4K capability. Picture quality is good in HD, built-in speakers are reasonably well. I say it is a good TV for the price.  Show details ·  1

Terrible sound – I purchased this TV because it was advertised on special with free delivery. Total mistake, the sound is so bad... Needed to put the volume to the maximum to be able to hear. Terrible sound, HDMI ARC doesn't work – Quality of the built-in speakers is absolutely terrible. HDMI ARC functionality doesn't work at all when connected to a external soundbar. I sent Kogan videos (which they never watched, I know because I can track views), I called them numerous times. They said they could not help me, there was no advice they could provide to improve the viewing experience so they recommended I return the TV for a refund.

After wasting a day at home (waiting for TOLL) and returning the TV, I waited 3 weeks for a response. Today they tell me they cannot replicate the fault and thus I am not entitled to a refund plus I need to pay the shipping.

They will not tell me how they tested the TV or provide a video to show it working, I think this is totally unacceptable. Please firstly do not buy this TV, secondly please do not purchase anything from Kogan. Their customer service is very poor.

Good value for money – The Kogan 65" 4k TV has major backlight bleeding issues, the backlight is patchy and doesn't have a uniform colour. purchased this TV because it wasn't a smart TV but the start up time of the TV takes fairly long to reach a picture (around 30 seconds). This TV boot up time is slower than my smaller Samsung Smart TV.

Paired with a remote 4k media box & this is a very well priced 55" TV solution.

October 31st 2017 Update: These units do not function correctly under arc on HDMI

What a shame that not only does this unit not function correctly under ARC HDMI control & does not have "any" firmware update to resolve the issue.

I am awaiting a response from Kogan senior support team members & let's hope they resolve this issue promptly so that I may continue with my loyal Kogan brand support.

After waiting more than two weeks for Kogan to agree to either a TV replacement of 55" 4K design that did not have any issue with HDMI ARC I received an email today asking me to start over the process of checking to see if the tv was really faulty.

Kogan tech support had already gone through this fault check list more than two weeks ago & admitted that they were fully aware of this issue on their 8000 series 4k tv's.

No firmware solution was available so I was told at that point in time & also that as the unit was not a smart tv & discontinued nothing could be done to achieve correct functionality of my tv.

Today when contacting their support number I asked to be put through to either a team supervisor or Management staff member so that I could get my issue resolved satisfactorily.

I was promised my call would be escalated to a senior team member immediately as requested.

After waiting a few minutes I was put through to just another call centre operator, as i recognised both the name & the voice of a previous non senior call staff member, how dishonest is that.

When I spoke & specifically asked for management contact details I was advised that this was unlikely to occur due to privacy issues.

Buyer beware Kogan does not based on my experience adequately support its warranty obligations & your ability to discuss any issue you may experience with your Kogan product with anyone other than call centre staff will be non existent.

Even mentioning how disgusted I was to be given the complete run around by Kogan for more than two weeks with broken promises along with failure to respond to emails & total disregard for customer care, l am yet to be provided with any method of contact for Kogans management team.

I really wanted to bring to their attention the total failure in customer support that I have personally experienced & provide them one final opportunity to correct their lack of service & customer care & keep me & my family as Kogan customers.

Being asked to jump through multiple hoops & prolonging the process possibly in hope that the customer gives up his rights for provision of warranty appears to be the way the Kogan call centre has been structured.

Even mentioning going public with the failings of Kogan Australia along with reporting this case to the ACCC for further investigation did not faze the Kogan call centre member, maybe they really just don't care at all?

Very good for the price (when on sale!) – Bought the Kogan 65" 4K LED TV (Series 8 KU8000), model KALED65UHDUA, during EOFY sale. Delivery was delayed by a week though they kept me updated. This is a decent TV for the price, it isn't going to win any awards for image quality but it does look pretty good displaying HD and 4k content (via various streaming services, I don't have a 4k… Read more

BlueRay player so can't comment on that). Image-wise, the biggest issue is that if you turn the backlight up over ~7 (out of 10), you start to clearly see irregularities on a dark image. Keep the backlight low and it looks pretty decent.

Built-in speakers are poor and you'll want to connect this to an external audio setup; there is one coax digital audio output, and one HDMI ARC port (I haven't tested the latter), as well as headphone out.

HDMI CEC seems to work in that I can control a Xiaomi Mi Box 3 Android TV device with the Kogan remote (not that you'd ever /want/ to do that, the Kogan remote is pretty mediocre, is downright terrible when compared to the Mi Box's Bluetooth remote).

Minor annoyances:

- you can't disable the built-in audio; when you have an amp connected via the digital audio out if you accidentally hit the Kogan remote's volume controls you'll have crappy audio emitting from the telly

- it takes ages to power on

- the splash screen is ugly ("Kogan" on a full-screen white background)

- the power cord is fixed to the TV - if it's not long enough (1.5m), you're stuffed (a detachable figure-8 cable would have cost too much, I guess)

Good considering the price – Good if u r after an occasional tv n has no expectation for it to give u a theateric effect. Bought for living area upstairs. Picture quality is acceptable but sound quality is really really bad. This is easily fixed by plugging in external speakers, the only downside of that is if ur speaker has no remote, I'll have to manually adjust the volume which could be a pain. Or just get a speaker w remote.  Show details
