CAN I ADD MEMORY TO THE 128gb TO EPAND IT OR NOT
Has anyone tried Linux on this thing?
Yes I am running Linux Mint 20 on it using xfce. Works flawless and much quicker than Windows 10.
Is it possible to increase ram in the E300? doesn't look like it is expandable but someone may know
no you cant. If used for regular use ram is no issue. 4k at 60htz not bad though
Hello. I’m considering buying a Kogan G400 which comes with a 64gb built in memory. Apparently it can be expanded by 256gb using an M2.SSD slot. Does anyone know where this slot is and how easy it is to add the additional SSD expansion please? Thanks, Rob
The top lid should pop off. Then you will see the m 2 slot. Make sure you have an m.2 screw to hold drive in place.
Yet to update with m 2 slot myself. Give it a try as per paully2012
Thank you! I understand that Incan add 256gb in total - is that correct?
Make sure you get an M.2 2242 ssd, these are shorter than the commonly available ones. Pry off the four rubber feet, unscrew the four screws beneath them. Carefully pry the top off, it is a little tricky getting it over some of the ports. Insert the ssd and screw in the screw. (I don't know where to get the screw, I'm still looking for one that will fit since it is a small hole.)
My Kogan Z310 i3 is asking me to login with microsoft login to start up. However will not accept the password even after I reset it
My Kogan Z310 i3 is asking me to login with microsoft login to start up. However will not accept the password even after I reset it
This is Windows operations/support issue - not notebook related. Check you maybe using PIN logon instead of your usual email password. Easier and cheapest way is to reinstall Windows 10 from stratch.
Windows was already installed
Will Microsoft office work with this computer
Yes but you'll have to install it on an external SD Card. . If you put Office on the internal storage Windows 10 cannot update.
Thanks
How did you get into the BIOS setup mode?
Can the gigabytes be upgraded and how much would it cost
M.2 upgrade to 240gb $55
This is a good $ upgrade and results in no update issues with windows 10 as the larger capacity stores O/S update files at same time whilst updating the "old" O/S. These updates can quite large. It also increases capacity to store more powerful apps.
Can I attach two monitors to my Atlas Z500s i5 Mini pc so they can work independently and not in tandem (Duplicate) ?.
Of course you can. Use win 10 display settings to do this.
This mini pc model has two outputs - one being HDMI and the other being VGA. You should be able as stated above nominate 2 monitors under windows 10. However one of your monitors must have VGA input and the other a HDMI input. You should get another monitor that is fitted both VGA and HDMI to make sure your covered for either options. In the event this does not work you can also get a USB to VGA or HDMI output display adapter.
I have just purchased the i3 core model. Just wondering can you use it to record TV programs and stored programs on my Foxtel IQ4 as I am fast running out of storage. Thanks.
No way this thing has no storage you have to use the cloud
Attach a USB Hard drive 1TB from Officeworks using USB based DVB-T as well as HDMI capture USB for Fox stuff.
Thank you so much for that. Cheers.
No you cant. Extend your storage with an m.2 ssd. Install windows on the new ssd. Essentially you cant save foxtel vids etc to pc due to copyright. The m.2 card more reliable than external drives.
You can capture to your PC if you play to your TV the Foxtel and you are fully paid up Foxtel subscriber. See Whirlpool forum. As for the m.2 ssd card they are very costly and not really a portable solution. As well you KEEP away such stuff filling a M.2 card. If you record your heart out you will corrupt your windows Os. My thinking: You RECORD via a USB DVB-T device to this external USB hard drive. They are very cheap to purchase. The USB hard drive is disconnected from the PC Notebook and attached to the TV via its USB. Most up to date flat panels will see ext-fat 16 formatted hard drives and playback the TV show. The file is saved from FTA to a TS stream format file on the hard drive. Essentially this is a MPEG in container with an extension TS which stands for transport stream. Technical stuff follows: The m.2 solution is good for fast boot and fast use and installation of apps. I tend not use m.2 for data - only if Windows or apps demand locale to the internal. In post 2016 4K TVs you have built in the following formats: TS, MPEG2 Standard, MPEG2@HL. H.264 and H.265 (HEVC) which Netflix uses. There are HDMI splitters "that heal" a HDCP HDMI signal. I have a 4K HDMI splitter that is sent from a home theatre orientated PC (it has an internal PCI express imported QUAD tuner DVB-T imported from China that is used in broadcasting and PC use). It is used for recording FTA. This goes directly to my 4K 75" TV and to a 4K projector. For the projector to "engage" a 4K signal it must handshake in HDMI version 2 compliancy. The PC does not have HDMI Version 2 compliancy. However the splitter heals the handshake lack in the Pc HDMI 1.4 and it is presented to the projector as HDMI version 2. The splitter does this so well that I can have 4K showing on both the TV and projector at the same time. There is a delay of about 10 seconds in the projector as it is very sensitive about switching into 4K mode when HDCP is in the digital signal stream. 4K Netflix from a Panasonic Player is very fussy but the splitter is also used for this and works very well. The Amp AV by Sony also has a 4K HDMI splitter built in. Twin outputs. It is HDMI version 2 compliant built in.
When ever I on my kogan atlas d400 notebook it just turns off again how do I fix it plz
Sorry I can’t be of much help. If it is under warranty you can send it back to Kogan. This however is not an easy task as the only way to contact them is via their website. Also insist they pay to return it, they will try to make sure that you pay to start with. It took about 3 months to have them approve return, returned and then fixed and sent back to me. Of course I lost everything that was on it. Also they asked me for all my passwords- I did not do this but they fixed it anyway. Good luck
Under warranty? As above advice. But you do not pay anything. You get an Return Authorisation. Via email. Took up to 6 weeks. My case the first Atlas one developed a Network plug issue. Battery on/off issue most likely.
