Lavazza Nespresso Compatible Capsules

Not compatible. Constantly jams in Nespresso machine – These pods are very cheaply made with flimsy plastic and foil. They constantly jam the machine and get stuck in the pod bay. Very frustrating every time you try to make a coffee.

Great Taste but Not Really Compatible – Bought some Lavazza Deciso capsules to try as we have been enthusiastic users of Lavazza Qualita Oro ground coffee for years. fall straight through into the waste container. To load the capsule you have to remove the container and use two hands to position the capsule.

All other capsule brands load completely reliably in this machine (including L’Or, Coles, genuine Nespresso and others).

Inspection revealed that the diameter of the flange at the circular flat end of the Lavazza capsule is around half a millimetre less than the other brands that work OK. Probably more importantly, the end of the Lavazza capsule seems to be closed with a thin aluminium sheet that appears to be bonded somehow to the plastic capsule; all the other brands use thicker and more rigid aluminium flanges. I suspect that the lack of rigidity in this assembly, plus a slight undersize, results in the capsule not being caught in the loading position as it falls into the machine.

I sent an email to Lavazza customer service but never received a reply. I then managed to find a 1300 number and was able to speak with somebody, but without satisfaction. They said that the Lavazza capsules met the specifications; when I described the differences that I had observed they didn’t seem very interested.
