Waste of time – Anything more than a light shower and some very light debris these things are useless and you lose all your water out the top gate.. absolutely useless and will need to replace

Warps in direct sun, leaks from the get go – Great idea, poor execution. The plastic it is made from is too thin, warps under direct sunlight allowing mosquito's into water tank . From new the bottom of the seal will constantly drip when raining. The removable cartridge also pops out under heavy to very heavy rain. I installed 4 of them and they all warped. I did talk to the manufacturer who said it was still in a sort of prototype phase. No offer was made to replace. Cost was $50 from the hardware store, I wouldn't mind paying $100 if it was manufactured for Australian conditions.
