Amazing – I have good wifi coverage in my house and I have had no issues with connectivity. The light is bright and the variety of colours is amazing, I’ve placed this down light in my gym and the light emitted causes the handle bar tape on my bikes to light up. It makes me wonder of the light emitted is actually UV. The IKEA RGB lights I have don’t have this effect.

The light has a gimble (ignore the guy commenting about the energy efficient issues). This allows you to angle the light a few degrees.

I’ve added this to my Apple home app with no problems.

Purchased in at Bunnings Warehouse for $97.

Useless for energy efficient home – Took lights out of the box, connected with the app, all good. Looking design point of the light and discover big cap between light and light body. All your home heating/cooling efforts will run out thru this cap into roof cavity. Bought 2 for trial, plan was to buy 30 - now need to look how can I sell these. These are suitable only into barn as it's not heated/cooled anyway. Absolute crap.

Purchased in at LIFX for $111.

32 Downlight Colour - Super Happy – Initially, I bought ten of these and was so impressed I decided to fit the rest of the house out. Most other lighting systems require a hub, which is what I didn’t want. Make sure your router can accept a higher number of clients as these do no have a hub. Not having a hub is a great thing if you don’t want extra crap floating around on a table somewhere. But something to be aware of.

There were some teething problems, but I ended up with a new mesh router system to accomodate the down lights. It would have happened anyway eventually with a smart home, but I would have liked the heads up in the company literature, specs etc. Still not really a problem, I had gone into this wanting to learn some new skills. Since the issues with the previous router are resolved I have really enjoyed these lights.

I have set them to turn on when I get home, to let me know when it’s raining, and have some set on timers and sensors for pantry and WIR. When my phone battery hits low power, leaves low power or charges to 100% certain lights show certain colours.

Lifx work really well with Apple Siri and “Hey, Google.” They can all be seen and controlled by most apps in the smart ecosystem: LG, Nanoleaf, IFTTT to mention a few. The actual LIFX app is brilliant, so I do prefer to control the lighting all from this beautiful looking and fully customisable app.

I adore the options of animating scenes and making lights accent furniture with colour. You can turn a pretty boring house into a very intriguing place. You can create a real vibe for any occasion, for even just hanging around, to a red theme for a midnight snack.

I actually hope to never live in a house without smart lighting again. Luckily LIFX also do bulbs too, so that’s a great thing. They all work together seamlessly in a house with both down light and B22.

Living with more customisable, dimmable, and waking/ sleeping lights to mimic sunrise and sunset is the way. Using the music function to change colour with music throughout the house or certain lights. All great functions in the app certainly is appealing. I would definitely recommend.

Purchased in at LIFX for $2,240.

Great lights, buggy app – I've owned 2 lights for almost a year. The actual lights are great. They can be bright, dim, rich in colour, subtle in colour. The packaging is really nice and unboxing it is a satisfying experience. But the app is buggy and laggy. Just little things like: the app saying your light is offline for 5 seconds when it clearly is still on, saving a colour but then it wont transfer to your "scene" properly, not responding when you choose a "favourite" and then it responding all at once 30 seconds later, sometimes when you load the app it can load annoyingly slower than other times for some reason. Things like that. It sounds small, but consider that the app is basically the main thing you use when it comes to these lights. It's the interface. These little niggles can get really annoying after a few repeats. Not only that, but getting them set up required multiple attempts to get it to connect. Once it was connected it was okay but it took probably 10-20 attempts initially! That said, sometimes the app is totally fine. It's those once-per-week problems that frustrate me.

Visually, the app layout is cool and looks sleek, it has cool functions/abilities, but obviously their coders have got some messy code in there or something. I've been hoping for the app to get slowly improved/updated but it hasn't really happened.

Not a regretful purchase though. I have 2 lights set up in my room, i love how much i'm able to alter the atmosphere with them. So many combos you can do. Fun to show your friends. They're the best smart lights on the market as far as richness and colour. I'd give 5 stars but the app isn't good enough considering the price.

Nice design and functionality but terrible WiFi connectivity – Using these lights for more then a year - I have installed 9 of them in my living room. The idea was to have independent control of every light and it's colour scheme that's why I chosen LIFX instead of using lights with hubs. Each LIFX Downlight can be connected to WiFi by itself. The product looks nice, colours and brightness are great, mobile application is functional and lights can be easily connected to Alexa. But the problem is they got terrible WiFi connectivity - they randomly loose connection to WiFi and can not reconnect themselves back - every time I have to restart the lights to get them reconnected. That happens for 1-2 lights/week in a random order ant it is very annoying. I got high-speed internet 100 mbps, no problems with internet connectivity as I use many smart home and other devices - the problem occurs only with LIFX. I also tried three different WiFi modems thinking that may be modem is causing the problem but changing the modem didn't improve the situation. Tried lights re-installation including firmware upgrade as well but that didn't help. Finally I believe that was a bad idea to buy LIFX - instead of buying these expensive lights (900 AUD total costs!!!), I should have chosen may be less functional but cheaper and more reliable Philips or IKEA lights with hub as they don't have any issues with the connectivity - I used them before.
