Completely overcomplicated unreliable junk. Just paying for the fancy packaging & marketing – Brought two of these bulbs as I was in a rush, and simply could not get them to work on two phones with the app & with wi-fi. 99% of the time the setup failed. Spent hours and hours with many attempts over a few days and a few times for some reason it let me into the app to control the light. Never again will I make this mistake of not reading… Read more

online forums and such which shows many others having the same problems.

Totally utterly unproven setup that is simply too complicated with no "dumb" mode for basic control & operation. Instead they wan't you to go through a hoard of nonsense. In the end I gave up & went back to basic bluetooth cheapies.

As far as the ordinary light output between roughly 3000K to 5000K, it has a rather awful creamy look that can't compare to quality high CRI-95 leds that I use, so for ordinary lightning it's absolutley useless as it renders the scene poorly, even Halogen is alot more enjoyable. As for the quality of the colours I played around with they look no better than cheap no name brand lights.

Greta light, can choose any shade of any colour – Got this lightbulb to connect to my google home, works well. Love that you can choose from any colour or any shade of white and can also dim it however much you like.

Works as advertised – Purchased a Lifx bulb last week to see what this home automation fad is all about. Anyway, initially I had trouble setting it up, the app would not connect. As it turns out, this is probably because of my phone, so no fault there. I set up the light using my brother's phone as the rest of the app works after that on my phone. The light connects… Read more

to the router, and from there connects to the lifx server, presumably in US. There is some lag in operation, but it's pretty small and not really an issue. It can also be controlled by the google assistant, such as on / off, set brightness to a percentage, and set the colour of...

the app can provide colour cycles, flash and some other things like music mode, which is quite unsynchronized and maybe suitable for really slow stuff but not really.

Anyway the main issue with the smart light is that it has to be switched on all the time to do it's thing, this is not much of an issue in some cases but considering most houses have a switch right near the door, it might seem pretty pointless to ask google to turn the light on when the switch is right there.

I also measured the standby power use at 0.5W, which is pretty good considering this thing is connected to the internet all the time.

Anyway, this is a nice product here are the pro// cons: pro: cool factor, google assistant integration, diy integration, no hub con: price, some nonlinearity in the colour curves ( not photo quality ), less practical than you might think

Great smart light that doesn't require a hub – Pros: - doesn't require a network hub like the Philips Hue range - competitive pricing - app is very intuitive and easy to use - can set up day and dusk feature to match sunrise to set lights (white only) - compatible with google assistant and other smart home integrations Cons: - needs the app to be constantly running in the background… Read more

to run the "create" and "effects" modes to change the colours of the smart light

- hard to find as always out of stock in office works or JBhifi
