Good – Having tried a universal remote before and finding it to be about as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle, I was skeptical and thought I'd be using the old remotes as backups. The Logitech is easy to use and intuitive to set up. Everything worked first time and any keystroke can be customised. Best $50 accessory I ever bought. Brilliantly simple to use, intuitive software, huge range of supported devices, dirt cheap. No much. Sometimes gets a bit 'confused' if a component is turned on or off manually, but a small quibble.

Universal remote – This Logitech 515 universal remote is quite simple to use. setup is via your p.c for all components including free to air t.v and pay t.v channels . keypad is somewhat small, but has a 'backlit button glow' this visually helps navigate to pen all via back lit open and all other buttons. Upper remote has alc display to choose tv pf free or pat tv,

Other media dvd cd choice.

on selection it asks if visually you can see components open such as amplifier, dvd cd player,tv on, pay tv set top box on.

it is a little slow in reaction time.

In 15 months the common buttons have lost their numeric or logo rubbed off, the backlit feature fortunately tells you watch you are pushing via

Backlight highlighting button details. Certainly good if you don’t have all in 1 s t box from austar which allows austar remote to access all t.v free and pay. The small control buttons and if details on buttons worn off if not wishing to use if in daytime.

I am very frustrated with the software implemented for this remote. It does not allow me to have full control of the actions I want to implement.

I would like to assign any action to any specific button, such as "Turn TV on, Turn Satellite Box on, Select Input AV1, etc, etc". I should also have the option not to turn the device on if I don't want to. I am always constrained by a stupid set of rigid rules. Also, the commands are confusing and misleading, for example "TV is on". But there is no such command as "Turn the TV on". How do I know if they actually send the command to turn the TV on or if they assume the TV is on? If I switch to a different activity, where the TV is already on, I should be allowed to disable the action of turning the TV on (because it will just turn it off)

Bad – Would be great if you have a simple set-up. Ie TV and a DVD player etc but we have two satelites, one for free to air TV and one for the Foxtel plus a hard drive and a blue ray player and no matter how hard I try or how many settings I change or add or how many calls to the help center it is just too much for the remote. Too many AV inputs just confuse it! Good in theory. Can customise the setup up. If you have a complicated set-up, ie a few different satelittes, hard drive, Blue-ray etc it doesn't work.

Good – I like this remote, worth the buy for myself as a christmas gift. I had it for a month now and love that one button and my TV, set top box and Bose sound system all on. Plus the same turning every thing off. I've a couple of thing to set up with the TV and set top box. But over all very happy with it so far. Been able to have the one remote and it was on sale for $50.00 below the RRP won me over. Having to use a computer and internet connection to setup and make changes a bit of a joke.
