The best universal remote – I checked all my devices online for compatibility before buying this. Amazing remote that can control different groups of equipment. One downside when setting up is that the Aussie TV digital station logos are not available. I went to digital TV Australia and saved all the logos as jpegs. This worked. This device replaced 6 remotes effortlessly.

It's a must have, but without the exploding battery please – Intuative to use, even the 7yo kid has no issues getting the 3 to 5 devices needed to stream a movie. All I need now is for him to teach the wife. One major issue is about 2 years in the battery has started to swell inside the housing, a quick check on line and its a common problem. I'll find a replacement, but the issue is that not everyone… Read more

is going to pull out the battery to check it when the time between charges, drops. They'll just keep throwing it back onto the charger like the wife did not realising that its a potential accident waiting to happen. Set and forget, the "help" button , is awesome. Swollen battery is a potential death trap. thevfactbthat it usually goes on charge overnight in its cradle meansvwhen it does go, and it will it will be when you're vin bed asleep.

Best Remote ever with excellent support service – I bought this remote 3 years ago as I had enough juggling 6 remotes to operate: TV. 2 PVRs, Home Theater and CD Player. Works like a charm for all devices even for CD player which had the original remote lost. After 3 years the battery came to the end of its life and was a bit tight to remove. Logitech support helped not only to remove the old… Read more

battery but send me the new free replacement battery so long after the warranty expired. Easy to programm and operate. Even my wife is happy with this device.

Great value universal remote – The Harmony One was a massive upgrade over my previous 1000i. The unit fits nicely in the hand and has custom formed buttons, so you can navigate easily without looking at it. If you do look at it, you will find the buttons are backlit and easy to read. The remote was easy to configure and seems to have none of the issues of the 1000i. It… Read more

would be nice if it had red/green/blue/yellow buttons and if the touch screen was more responsive. Similarly, the RF adapter on the 900 would also be a nice upgrade.

The only other downside came after I accidentally trod on my first Harmony One. the screen cracked, which necessitated throwing out the entire remote. I didn't even think I put that much pressure on it. Great value, reliable, easy to configure Touch screen isn't great. Won't survive being stood on

The best remote control you can ever buy – In 2012 I bought this remote so I could save heaps of space in my room because I thought it was an excellent price of $105 with postage of $12 from PC Case Gear. Also with control of up to 15 devices and one-touch activity controls, this is the only remote you may ever need. Great Design, Touch screen is very reliable and Very easy to use Expensive

Excellent Remote but software not supported in OSX lion – If it was not for a MacBook Pro that I had not updated to Lion I would never have discovered what a wonderful remote the one is. Come on Logitech update the software!!!!! The setup process was easy using the old MacBook and the end result is a remote that everyone in the house can operate with ease. Easy of use Software not supported in OSX lion Show reply

Perfect Remote – We've owned a few remotes in the past, including a basic Logitech model (Reviewed here: http://www.productreview.com.au/r/logitech-harmony-300i/263149.html), but the Harmony One is the most sophisticated and easy to use URC I've ever encountered. Why 5 Stars: Set Up is easy, not the "snap" Logitech claim, but the self contained software is… Read more ·  4

much better than using the browser interface of myharmony that is required with previous or more basic models. All but 1 of our 8 devices was accessed through the database, yet even setting up the "rogue" remote was achieved by simply pointing the remotes at each other and pushing a couple of buttons.

The activites feature of the remote is exceptional. It allows the user to set up a number of options that controls a complete self contained activity, such as watching TV, listening to music, playing a console game, watching a movie etc. A single "click" is all that's needed. This is especially helpful if you have a Home Cinema style set up as you can allocate various options - such as outputs and channels - to each activity. It really is a one click solution.

For example, everything in our system goes through the AV Receiver so the DVD player input is HDMI 1 and Foxtel is HDMI 2 and Apple TV is HDMI 4 and we stream music through audio 1 etc, so it's great to simply click watch TV or watch Apple TV or play XBOX and theoretically everything turns on in a single go - with the right inputs and outputs. Of course it doesn't always turn everything on, especially if you've manually turned a device off etc but the help option is incredible.

The help option is simple and effective - it makes using the remote painless. If for example you choose an activity such as watch Foxtel and it doesn't work, it steps you through each device until it's working. Sometimes it's as simple as one step and sometimes it takes two or three, but the Harmony One asks you questions on the interface that simply require yes or no responses.

It takes a bit of time to set up the activities and to personalise them but it's worth it. So be patient.

This is by far the best URC we've ever owned and it I wish I'd purchased this model earlier. It retails for around A$229.00 but I found it on eBay, new from an Australian merchant for A$115.00 with free delivery. It was the best $115.00 I ever spent! Ease of Set Up, One Button activites is brilliant, help option is genius.

Very Average, would look at other options – Very rarely works as promised, despite receiving so called assistance from the on line help desk. Have found that the device must be aimed exactly at the equipment to be activated or it fails, especially Foxtel iQ2. When switching between activities will also not always turn off the main device you are leaving. The help function always asks… Read more

first if it has fixed the problem which it never has. Turning off is when it struggles the most - 99% of the time at least one device stays on. The help desk suggested this has to do with the time delay settings needing massaging, but when they rebooted the remote whilst connected to the internet their fix actually made the unit worse. The default settings work best, and it takes too long to adjust each time delay and test as the unit has to go thru the whole set up process each time you want to make a change. Then you have to go back to the TV and try again - frustrating. It also is next to useless for our split system air con, despite claiming that it can operate any device that uses an infra red remote. Tried "coaching" it by aiming the original remote at it end to end and pressing the button for each command with no success. When it does work it saves picking up 4 different remotes and having them lay around the lounge Does not work very often as promised and need to use the help function 90% of the time to do what the 1 step command system is suppossed to do

The best investment I've ever made – I bought this remote about 2 years ago only because I now use it with all of my electronic devices, tv's; computers, gaming consoles; audio system; satellite tv system; some generic non-brand dvd players; blu-ray player.... and now trying to convince myself to find every single electronic device that uses a remote and pair it up with this. I… Read more

just have to figure out how to pair it up with my Panasonic split-system air conditioning...the next step.

Unfortunately, I broke the screen on the first one and had to buy another one luckliy I bought that one from Ebay; now I have two batteries if the need should arise to replace. Just make sure that you keep this remote away from prying eyes such as children or pets. Keep it in a good safe spot. Everything Easy to break if you are not too careful

Indespensible, versatile remote control that solves the multi remote lounge clutter! – I have been through a large number of universal remote controls in my lifetime, but this is my all time favourite. It sits nicely in the hand as it is beautifully balanced and sculpted along the underside so that it always is held so that the buttons fall directly to hand and are easy to find even in a dark room. This is a brilliant bit of design,… Read more

and you can see that Logitech are no newcomers to this field. I have had previous generation Harmony remotes, and the evolution is obvious.

For those who are not well experienced in the ways of universal remote controls, there are two main types - those which you painfully have to set up on the remote control themselves by inputting the code for each appliance you own or by learning the codes button by button. These are painful to set up and something of a nightmare in my opinion. Not for the novice, but that is not the way of Logitech's Harmony range of remotes. They work by sychronising with your computer, either Windows or Mac and utilising some excellent software supplied by Logitech. From the software you enter all the devices you wish to control and then it synchronises with Logitech's extensive online database to download all the settings and codes to your remote via the supplied cable.

The Harmony One is activity based, meaning that you have to simply tell it what you want to do and it does it, such as "Watch TV" or "Play DVD" or "Play Xbox" etc. These can be whatever you want them to be! It has a big, bright, colour touch screen for the activities which can display six at a time. It comes with a large capacity rechargeable battery and a cradle that automatically recharges the Harmony One when you replace the remote back into it. Also, as soon as you pick up the remote to use it, the backlights come on so you can see what to press which is also very convenient. Mind you, the button layout is flawless and everything falls right to hand and is just the right size.

This remote is so much more friendly to use and less intimidating to use than the standard machine gunned array of buttons that come with so many high end home theatre systems these days. It is a revelation by comparison. And if things don't work quite how you expect them to, there is a wonderful button called HELP that by some incredible wizardry often fixes things with no more input required, but if that fails, it leads you through a simple series of questions that usually fixes the problem in a matter of moments.

There are some things you need to be aware of with this type of remote however. It relies on line of sight to work properly with all your devices and it can take quite a few seconds to send all the commands your chosen activity requires, so you need to be patient. If someone walks between you and the remote at the wrong time, this can cause problems which can mean you need to use the help button to fix some missed signals, but those are quickly fixed. You soon get used to it. My cat loves doing that to me and thinks it is something of a game I think! lol!

Having said that, signal interruptions are rare as the IR sender in the Harmony One is powerful and it was designed with this in mind. If you are getting the idea I love this remote, you are not wrong. It is a brilliant product and I can't recommend it enough. Do yourself a favour and get one. You'll thank me later! With all other universal remotes you still need the original remotes from time to time. Not so with the Logitech Harmony One. It truly does replace them all.

Oh, one final thing - if you get overwhelmed trying to set it up, Logitech provide the most brilliant phone support for the Harmony range. They can make changes and sort out your problems and get you up and running over the phone. They are patient and helpful. That alone makes this a brilliant choice. Great value, fantastic touch screen, easy to setup, great to hold. Awesome phone support.

Very Useful – Once set up this universal remote is a life saver, instead of having to fumble around with 6 different remotes you can operate everything you need from just one! takes a bit of time to set it up and you need to use a computer to do so, but certainly worth doing. devices you might have, old or new this remote will automatically know what buttons to use, if not it is able to learn from the old remote, and even if you don't have the old remote It can still be configured to operate your device. Very happy with it. It will not operate a PS3 or Wii, It can operate a PS3 with an additional controller, it is not very expensive and I bought it also, works great. Very Useful No PS3 control without purchasing additional extra

Good – These hit the market at a huge premium price, they can now be gotten for a much more reasonable spend. If you're in the market for a universal remote then the Harmony One is definitely one you should look up more of. To be honest, unless you're the biggest Uber-nerd on the block then you really don't need any more than this. Huge list of… Read more

supported devices and it can learn anything from any IR remote. The software guides you through the set-up fairly well. Well balanced with easy to find buttons, that light up when the device is moved. Touch screen is accurate enough. Turn on you TV, DVD and tuner all in one press... and then another to adjust your air-conditioner or heater. Robust yet elegant. Very long battery life. Retains the familiarity of all your other remotes without all the clutter, misplacings, and dodgy battery flaps etc. Even technophobes can drive it, once it's set-up. Needs a PC to set-up. Software needs Internet connection. Would be nice to have the option to create custom activities, like turn on radio and tune to station X. Yet another device that needs yet another power socket in the living room. It wont bring you cold beer from the fridge.

Good – Beside the above con, I LOVE this remote. The ease of use is brilliant and now my wife can turn on the PS3 with the additional Harmony PS# adaptor. What a great addition. second ALL in one remote from Logitech after the other one died from overuse. I must say that this one is even better than the first. To set up was a breeze. Touch screen is awesome and the graphics have also improved from the previous model. There is no RED, GREEN, YELLOW, BLUE buttons. I used these for my foxtel to jump through pages quicker!

Good – This is a great device, once you get through the first couple of weeks. Those will be filled with the occasional 'arghhh' moment where you take it in to the pc for a fiddle and update. However, once you've added all your devices, and worked out how to add any non-official devices (I have a popcorn hour, there were 4 different user made profiles… Read more

for it) you'll find it makes using multiple devices in the living room a pleasant breeze. Lots of buttons, responsive touchscreen, tons of supported devices. Battery life is good, and charging cradle much better than previous models. Requires a PC and an internet connection, meaning I probably can't get one for my Mum. Software 'hides' settings, making for an exhaustive menu hunt sometimes. Can't customise lcd button layout (4 big squarish buttons would be nice) or lcd button backgrounds.

Excellent – It's fantastic to have ONE remote for the TV, stereo, foxtel, DVD player, game console.
