I tried this one it destroyed all my knives. They all have rust spots . I am going back to finish . Never had an issue with finish rinse aid. Keep away .
Logix Rinse Aid – I never had a dishwasher until 3 years ago. I will never live without one. I had never used a rinse aid so I decided to make my dull looking cutlery and glass look a bit happier. this stuff is great and you don't need a lot. ours is a bench top 2 person so it is probably half what you would use in a normal size. very happy and will keep buying especially at below $3.00 a bottle.
Two different formulations of Logix Rinse Aid are listed on chemwatch – On Chemwatch there are two different listings for Logix Rinse Aid with two different formulations, one formulation only has ~25% ingredients other than water while the other formulation has ~45% ingredients other than water. MrsThrifty possibly had the older, weaker formulation hence her substandard results with Logix Rinse Aid. I have the… Read more
newer, stronger formulation which can be identified by the product code 700280 and barcode 4088700043554.
I have an ALDI Stirling STR-DWSS14 dishwasher and I use a combination of the default Eco cycle which has a 45° main wash and 52° rinse and the Intensive cycle which has a 60° main wash and 65° rinse. I rarely use the 90 Mins cycle which has a 65° main wash and 65° rinse as this cycle has cracked some bowls and plates. On all cycles I am happy with the performance of Logix Rinse Aid.
I have hardwater in the Perth Hills so a rinse aid is essential or else there is spotting on dishes especially when using cheaper powders and tablets that don't contain citric acid and other substances that help break down detergent residue and limescale.
This rinse aid is great value and I recommend it.
More expensive name brand rinse aids are mostly a waste of money given the similar ingredients consumer grade rinse aids use in my experience.
Citric acid is a good natural alternative to rinse aid but I can't justify the additional cost when much cheaper rinse aid is available and I clean the dishwasher monthly using a dishwasher cleaner that contains citric acid.
I don't like this very much at all – I used to buy the dishwashing tablets from Aldi, & I liked them a lot, so thought the rinse aid would be good too. I have to say, it's not. Leaves a lot of spotting on my clean cutlery. I don't know if its the fault of the rinse aid, or the fact that I live in a 'hard' water area here in the south-east of Qld. Whatever it is, it's the spots that… Read more
are left on my clean cutlery that I'm not happy about. I have to spend time with a clean, wet cloth, wiping each & every piece of cutlery. The wet cloth seems to get rid of the spots. Sort of! I'm not buying Logix rinse aid again. Can't believe I persevered with it for so long! I'll spend a bit more money next time, & buy Finish instead. I see many good comments about Finish rinse aid, so may as well try it & see.
Do we really need to use to use rinse aids, anyway? I might try going without them one day, & see if my cutlery come out spot-free. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! :)
